Well, we were truley outplayed today and good luck to Crawley, they had a game plan and it worked.

My main concern is that the bulk of the team were fringe players/ reserves and if they can't beat a league two club they should be looking at moving some of them on and we should definately be strengthening in all areas.

Positives, Cooper & Hobbs looked good. I'm glad we recalled Cooper
Negatives, Garcia, East & Brady. I'm really nor sure why they were on the pitch and would be more than happy to see them leave.

I wouldn't say outplayed, as what they did was not play football. It was long ball tactics that worked wonderfully, and they stuck to what works well for them. I don't hold that against them at all.

Tactically we didnt make the pitch big enough, we need to have two wingers to create space for the central midfielders. Evans and Cairney weren't strong enough and ran scared at times, and you could tell, they never won a second ball. The substitutions i felt where poor one's, bringing on Oli was a good idea just for the wrong person. If we insist on hoofing it, do it over the top to run onto, not straight at their centre halfs who won everything all day.

The referee was god damn awful, admittedly not just against us, against them to. Why are referees not consistency? Five fouls in that game where identical, two got yellows, one didn't. The two yellows where to us.

We weren't good enough, the team didn't play as well as it should, the tactics where wrong and they played well. We move on and win promotion. Sounds easy.

The negatives: Too many to mention...The positives : (1) Oli looked okay (2) No fixture pile up. (3) The first team will be back on Tuesday (4) That XI should be out of the dressing room by 10pm..

    We were ****e, end of.

No excuses, we just didn't look up for it, why we kept hoofing the ball in the ball in the first half with all the passing ability in our side is beyond me, but we were really poor.

The officials were ****e, but it didn't decide the game and that obnoxious fat twat of a manager deserves a good slap, but there's not much point, as he'll probably have a heart attack in the next couple of weeks anyway. Piss poor, but the fact is, that it's the Donny game on Tuesday that really matters.

Barely a single player comes out of today's game with any credit, but at least Oli looked way better than he did against Ipswich.

A woeful team performance with only Hobbs and Mannone worthy of any praise.

It's a long time since I've been so disappointed with a "performance".

Hopefully this will help confirm that some just aren't good enough at this level. Cullen definitely isn't up to it, I don't think Cairney is going to do it for us long term and Fryatt looked well off the pace.

I'd love Billy Sharp to come in, but can't see it at the moment given what's been said so far.

Whilst not being in the cup may be better for our potential final league position, I can't stomach a complete lack of effort.

I expect a much improved performance on Tuesday.

Considering we are probably the best pasisng side in the division that was pants today.. Cooper though a big plus. Missed the likes of Koren and Mckenna and never got to grips with the game. Cullen on as a sub showed what NB thought about the game.

Put a second string out and paid the price against a robust up and coming lower league outfit.

Was glad to see that having been beaten in the cup, our game against Brighton on the day of the 5th Round would not be postponed but lo and behold the Seagulls go and beat the Geordies. 17 games to cram in 3 months of the season ffs.

Quite a lot of people on FB and on here giving Cullen a right bashing but he didn't do any worse then anyone else on the pitch today, he only came on for the last 20-30 minutes of the game. By what he has been putting on twitter he has scored a fair few goals in friendlies since he has been back. Lets face it apart from maybe Hobbs none of them had a good game today, do you think maybe Crawley were too physical in their approach and we let them dominate that way. Second half performance was a bit better in terms of effort but oh well lets just concentrate on getting further up the league. I would not have wanted Nick to play our best starting 11 knowing that we have a game on Tuesday.

Mannone made soem good saves, and Hobbs and Cooper came out the game with some credit. If anything today showed what a miss Mckenna is when not in the midfield, Cairney was woeful today. We seemed to lack ideas going forward and couldn't break a solid Crawley defence who's attack was equally threatening going forward. I thought Cullen looked good when he came on, but why no Simpson? I too though Oli looked good when he came on. We need a reaction on Tuesday, hopefully we'll see a better performance with the first team back together.

If anything comes out of todays game, it's that we don't have any strength beyond the first 11. We are still woefully inadequate up front. We need to sign a PROVEN striker before the window shuts.

That is utter bollocks. The defence totally bypassed the two centre midfield, Evans and Cairney. you could have had Keand and Redondo playing in ther and East would still have launched it every time.
Cullen looked good!! Are you fukin pissed. He is **** and should leave immediatley.

About sums it all up and just about hits the nail on the head. Unlike many other hissy fitting - knee jerkers posting tonight. Tuesday is when it matters most. Cooper and Hobbs deserved better than to be on the losing team. Oli (imo) should have started along with Simpson.

Jesus, that was embarrassing. A perfect opportunity for Barmby to try out another strike partnership but instead decided to stick Fryatt upfront on his own with our new striker on the wing?! Strange one. I'd like to see both Mclean and King upfront together and dropping Fryatt would probably do him some good.

Thought big Seyi looked pretty good too, we're definitely lacking some height and strength in midfield. For a player who's just returned from injury and not played 1st team football for a while he covered a fair bit of the pitch. In a situation where our players fancied making a bit of movement I reckon he could do a decent job.

Bollocks? Allow me to explain my point before you jump down my throat. Cairney was shocking today, it was a game he should have stamped his mark on but didn't, when he had the chance to the game passed him by. Yes, the defence did not help but Cairney looked very poor, and he wasn't the only one. Evans just couldn't get into the game, either from the long balls or been closed out the game by the Crawley players. As for Cullen, I thought he looked ok when he came on, sorry if that goes against popular opinion. I would rather have seen Simpson on but I was pleasently suprised by Cullen's performance. He wasn't great, but wasn't bad. I don't think he should be in the first team, but he wasn't the worst out there. And no, I'm not pissed, we just viewed the game differently.

Cullen is not the answer and may aswell be shipped out.. fryatt is even worse and doesn't deserve a capital and mclean is just average... our forward problem will be the downfall of non promotion this year, fact

Cairney has had too many games where we expected more, a player of his potential should be bossing games like this.. You say East was hoofing from RB, Rosenior usually plays out..

outplayed is a overstatement in my eyes i think if we had played to our best the game could of been so difrent ive seen so meny tigers fans saying that we was outplayed yes they had a couple of shoots and a few chances but they dint look deadly at and i think crawley are getting credit for us having a off day! but can you expect to win making seven changes to the first team. but in a way im sort of glad were out of the cup so we can go solid at the leauge and push on for promotion!

Only the bit about being glad to be out of the cup made me cringe.

For moments in that game such as the end of the first half, the team clicked and the passing game showed Crawley for the level they are. What we largely lacked was a leader on the pitch.
