Pure luck. I'm popping between 5 different tabs and I just happened to be on here then. If you'd been a few minutes later you'd be getting told now.

Looking at the teams we are failing to beat it looks like we will just fall short this season. Next year we'll be stronger. UTT

Lots of missed chances and the front three just don't function well together ,we need a supplier in midfield who works for 90 minutes.

The second the ball slowly rolled over the White line, before it managed to even hit the net, I said that's game over it will finish 1-0. To be fair I think we actually deserved to win, we had plenty of clear cut chances, just couldn't finish. And what a god awful goal to concede, defence? Either way that's my excitement gone for the season now, play offs finished IMO, although slot can happen were too far behind now and not good enough to make up the ground against the teams we have left to play.

    Looking forwards to next season!

If I'm totally honest we are not one of the best 6 teams.. we created chances and didn't take them.. just litstening to big Nige, can't disagree with him, two home defeats is very dissapointing.. too much to make up now? probably.. I think we're top 10.

Barmby wasn't very affective tonight, I think we should stick with him on the bench and bring him on mid-second half.

I agree, We,ve made a giant leap forward from the start of the season, but still not quite there. If we had this team start of the season then who knows where we could be now.

We aren't one of the top 6 sides, but on paper we should be in the top 2 or 3. We just lack a few simple things. We desperately miss someone who can hold onto the ball and boss the midfield, we let Bullard go and he was ideal for this role. Koren is getting less effective each game.

We're so short of a target man it's unreal. I can't think of many good teams that don't use one, even Arsenal have finally given into it and signed Chamakh. We spend 90 minutes going through a cycle of long balls which McLean loses, then trying to pass our way through and realising that we are closed down and stifled VERY easily, then hoofing it again.

What midlands_tiger said was absolutely right, as soon as that ball stupidly crossed the line it was obvious we would lose 1-0 because we are so easy to stop at home. I haven't seen a city winger get behind a full back since Garcia this time 3 years ago, and the obvious need for a target man isn't exactly anything new either, we could have had Austin in Januray but we chose McLean instead.

Marlon Harewood would have been perfect, Mclean is not looking good enough at this level.. Barmby though deserved a start but it won't be repeated.. hindsight is a wonderful thing snowy joey..

It's obvious that Barmby's not going to cope with a starting spot, as good a player as he is. The old fellas legs won't and can't carry him for longer than 30 minutes.
I Saw The Premier League Tigers - I agree with you that our squad is one of the best, but a lot of our players just don't seem to be able to play with each other. Whether or not that's because of the style of football we play is another thing. After all, the players who have stood out are two centre-halves, whose performances depend more on the style the opposition play, and Fryatt, who played under Pearson at Leicester. Somebody like McLean however, has been playing for a side who play football on the deck, and have a fluent passing style, which is most certainly not the way Nige sets his teams out. I rate McLean, as I think he offers a presence up front but, as good as he is with his head, he is being made to look ineffective by having to rely on long punts from the back 5.
