Superman,

In my eyes the last few weeks have been the lowest Ive witnessed at the football club, I admire the way Norwich have gone about things they sent money but it earnt them money.

Leeds United fans moaning to get BatesOut its not so we can have some russian billionaire its just so we can have someone who will spend a bit of cash to mount that final push to the Premiership and until Bates is gone we won't get that.

I wouldnt mind paying that if we spent even a couple of million on transfers in a year but our highest transfer fee in in the last 5 years was Pugh £500k (and hes ****)

i think some leeds fans have difficulty separating potential size from current size. leeds potentially are a massive club. they have been before and they probably will be again. however, as it stands you'd have to say even norwich are currently at least similar size club to leeds at worst. but don't be fooled - leeds are potentially a very big club, but very big clubs don't sell their captain to norwich and don't reside in the middle of the championship. in my opinion there is a pyramid of clubs in england. at the top you have manchester united, liverpool and arsenal who have consistently challenged for and won honours decade after decade. then you have the 2nd tier under them featuring clubs like tottenham, manchester city, newcastle, aston villa, everton, chelsea and leeds, all of whom have the potential to win things but have not done so on a regular basis but have had moments of dominance. norwich are probably in the third band along with teams such as leicester, the sheffield clubs, forest, ipswich, birmingham, wolves, west brom etc, all of whom have potential fan bases to tap into but are never really likely to achieve anything over a sustained period but may win a cup or have a long spell in the top flight. then you have clubs like burnley who are similar to clubs like norwich but don't have the fan base before you start drifting towards many of the clubs outside the top two divisions and so on... its all academic really. these days its more who's got the most money!

I'd probably agree with that assessment, but I'd say Newcastle and Man City are bordering on the 3rd tier.

I'd probably agree with that assessment, but I'd say Newcastle and Man City are bordering on the 3rd tier.

in my defence, man city have won european honours, as have newcastle and both have bigger potential than say a norwich or a forest. its all down to interpretation, but some may say forest are a big club cos they won two european cups but i'd argue that the stature of the club overall is not in keeping with a top european club. they were great for two or three years in that era and they did amazingly well, but it is impossible for them to get to that level again, whereas a newcastle or a man city could do that with good management and could sustain it, while a forest wouldn't be able to. ok citeh have the financial backing to do it now but they are a very similar size club to leeds in that respect <ok>

and to add, the term 'sleeping giant' is often used, and often quite farcically, about many teams. forest are not a sleeping giant! sheffield wednesday are because they have the potential stature wise and fan base wise to get into that 2nd tier of clubs with good management on and off the field. i don't think forest could, nor norwich. leeds are a sleeping giant but leicester (one of the frankly laughable ones i read the other day) are not <ok>

likewise, qpr, despite having plenty of wonga and having ideas above their station are not capable of moving into that 2nd tier of teams because they simply aren't a big enough club to sustain it.

i think that makes sense!! <laugh>

Its pissing both sets of fans off now!

Bet Bates is doing it on purpose waiting til last day so he doesn't have time to get a replacement!! (well thats what he will say)

I know mate, I used to go to school with Howson, Hardworking guy who was always going to be a footballer!

He will do a great job in the premiership for you especially if Lambert plays him in his preferred position, No disrespect but he is a better player than Hoolahan very similar but better finisher, stronger and gets stuck in aswell.

Lambert knows his football so will probably ease him in to the premiership gently!

I think more people should leave Leeds because at the end of the day we are just hindering their progress this also applies to Grayson we are slowing down their development.

Man this is a very very sad statement from a supporter!
I think we all knew that things weren't too brilliant at Leeds, but are they really that bad that the supporters want their best players to leave?
Don't give up mate there is light at the end of the tunnel, although that light may seem to be miles away, it WILL get better. Look where we were 2 1/2 years ago, bottom of the old Third Division, going nowhere apart from out of business.
I can't say that I have any affinity with Leeds as a club, but we are all football supporters and are bonded in our love of the game and our particular teams. So as one supporter to another, I wish you and your team well and sincerly hope that things improve for you.
