It's an award for Clint, but it's also an award for Fulham since the award's focus is only the complete player - club and international success. I think he's won this a couple times before. Clint will have to win if the next five years in a row to catch up to Landon Donovan.

Amazingly, Brian McBride never won the award.

Are you implying Donovan doesn't deserve to have won it as many times as he has, Bandy? He looks a good player to me.

He is a very good player for the league he is in, but I agree with Friedel who stated that Donovan has it easy in the MLS instead of fighting to prove himself at a better level like Dempsey has. A handful of games for Everton for me doesn't justify that he's good enough for the Premier League, he went to the Bundesliga and was awful.

Looking forward to the next hat trick in a couple of games time. Is there a term for a hat trick of hat tricks???

A conundrum - While I'm not given for short term knee-jerks, but I'm kinda thinkin' that as last year's Fulham POTS and his goal-scoring this year, Clint Dempsey is a now serious candidate for my dream FFC team. There is, of course, no greater accolade - but it means dropping Brian McBride or Barry Hayles, both of whom hold a special place - I'm toying with the latter. Thoughts are welcomed!

This suggests you're putting Dempsey up front? No Saha? I would put Dempsey left wing for certain. I think he's had a greater impact than Boa.

Depends whether your team is based more on technical ability or just being an all round fulham hero. Hayles technically is obviously not in the same class as dempsey but I can see why you'd include hayles. Although I have a decent memory of hayles, I'm probably a bit too young to fully appreciate what he gave to the club. What really makes dempsey stand out for me as a great fulham player is that unlike many in our squad, he's actually got better since Sir Roy left. While others as we have regularly discussed have struggled to adopt the new tactics/methods of Jol and Hughes, Dempsey just keeps improving.

A 'Stokes'.

I believe Anthony Stokes (that excellent striker currently playing for Celtic and who we should be showing interest in) is one of the few, if not the only one, to have done it.
