with craig gardner now seemingly unsettled, i want to ask why always safc! our recent history is riddled with players who seem to become unsettled for example- craig gardner, sessegnon, gyan, bent etc etc etc. why can other teams attract players and keep hold of them where as our beloved club first of all seems to have difficulty attracting and convincing players to come and play for us unless we pay them obscene amounts of money then when we so get them they only last a short time before becoming pissed off.

are we really that awful?

but why the City, most live in Durham or Newcastle. With Bent and Gyan it was about style of play under Bruce or money. Sess I feel is happy but he cant get his wife and kids to try it and Gardner is just home sick.
 
It's a grey city built in the mould of the Pogues 'Dirty old town' due to a lack of funding unfortunately. Manchester and Birmingham have had a hell of a lot of money pumped into them after IRA attacks. London has a ridiculous amount of money swimming through it because it's our 'glorious capital', it has tourism and it has 'The City' (****ing marvellous'. The North East, relatively, has been forgotten about.

The weather is a massive influence, the transport infrastructure to the rest of the country, the shopping (for the wives, again massive as most of them are ****ing halfwits who can't even spell credit card) even the very architecture is unfortunately not as 'pleasant' as other cities/regions of the country. Without the industry and jobs that other parts of the country have it's often viewed as 'bleak' by outsiders, 'it's grim up north' springs to mind, as they don't share the sentiment that we do for the place. They don't share the simple pleasures/home comforts we get from the place.

I love the North East but you can understand why people leave/avoid it in search of more affluent surroundings.
 
Now, i'm a very proud Mackem, but for me, the whole city oozes negativity.

Like Syd says though, Durham is beautiful, and that's where most live.

Accessibility, of course, is a problem.

Bar Yorkshire, it's a hike to anywhere.

but you moved to Spain so its all your fault, is it still good in the sun
 
Who says Sess is unsettled? It's no problem so get over it. Bent & Gyan had problems with the management and Gardner is just homesick.

Still miss home though mate, always will, but i'll be visiting more this year, now that i'm sorted and settled here.

Thing that strikes me now, is that I call Spain home, and I love landing back into Malaga.

Forever a Mackem though (except when England get knocked out of the Euro's and I adopt Spain for a few weeks and enjoy the street party!).

its been all over the media that sess isnt happy cos his family are still in france, gyan thought it was too cold and got shown the money, bent also wanted money and wanted to be back down south, gardner is homesick and these are only the very recent ones, we have also had people in the past that were good until they came to us and did **** and they usually blame it on not being settled.
 
I retire in four years time at the age of 50 and I can tell you now the minute I finish I will be up the M62 like a rat up an alley. Can't wait to get home.Even our lass who is a scouser can't wait to get to Sunderland.Our city has loads ganning for it and let no bugger tell you otherwise

It's not a bowl of cherries here mind Syd, you have to work your nuts off, not all San Miguel and sunshine.

The big thing is though, that the opportunity is there, if your prepared to put the graft in.

I had a good life in the North East, but i'd hit a ceiling, the moves allowed me to go a wee bit further, and I can't ask for more than that, in the scheme of things.

Nothing official saying he was unhappy. I for one am not concerned about Sess' happiness as I believ he is fine where he is. Im pretty sure his family came over.
