What do you think? Yesterday I hated it, to big for the page and just not right, nothing like how it looked in real life.

Today I must admit its growing on me and I like thw way the clours blend in.

Better than the grass, and thats for sure.

Syd, I reckon your first thought is how I see it as well. It's TOO big, I see "..NDERLA..", the cat which was menacing in the original is at best indistinct and the water has turned to a slightly mottled background. It loses the "impact" that was there!! needs to sized down mate.

What he said!!

Must say, the more I look at it the more I like it, the way the colours blend in is great. If we can reduce it to fit the page I think it will look good.

it does fit the page, if you are on 1900*1200.

I knew this would happen when mick was asking for a huge pic, 95% of web browsers still have small monitors with 800*600 then 4% have 1200*800 its only the 1% that have huge monitors, so with mick asking for a huge pic he was pleasing himself (and me lol) but making everyone else see a crap logo. Problem is if you make it smaller, then it will be small for us (even though you will see it all nicely we will see a smaller version. but not a lot you can do about that)

I have a 2 monitor setup

1900*1200 is fine if a little too deep
800*600 is crap as its cropped and you just see the middle.

Just worked out how to use the Multi-Quote feature!!

Thank you loyal acolytes Wherewereyou and rokereconomic, like the oppressed of the world we will rise up against tyrannical regimes and consign them to the cesspits (aka St Sportsdirect.com Park), you have been warned ......... "Super" Moderator indeed

<tongueincheeksmiley>

Er, before we do that, would you tell me how to do the multi-quote thingy. Ta!!

tick the little icon to the right of reply with quote, then tick it again on the next post, then click reply with quote and a box should pop up with 2 quotes from the 2 posts.

the banner is always going to look different on different screens. In work I see Sunderland in full, at home with my 24 inch monitor I see the huge whacks of white space to the left and right of Sunderland, on my little netbook I see 'underlan'.

I think we'll need to redesign the banner so that it maybe has a proper background that doesn't matter if it's squeezed in a bit.

Easy peasy, then. OK, then, Rokerlad, on with the revolution.

Cheers Steve and Syd.

What this revolution

Sorry to be technical but you need to specify the size in % not pixels - it can be fixed by customising the html tags, I'm not sure how much editorial control we have, but the other forums (scum, Gooners etc) don't seem to have this problem

http://forums.tizag.com/showthread.php?p=92905

you could try that, but not sure it will work on a forum (or where to even put it)

or this, i cant see the solution but if you are registered you should be able to

http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showthread.php?t=137415

the problem is with % and pictures, the default will look great, but then if you squash it down or enlarge the default pic, it will look like crap again.

make it 800* 600 and view it on a 1900*1200 it will look grainy and pixelatated, vice versa will look squashed.

PS its fine for background images, not so much for logos.

I liked the grass, but open to regular changes, it's getting better every-week
