its basic man-management, pure and simple, right out of the martin o'neill textbook and absolutely nothing to worry about true about the goals from elsewhere. would still like a few more goals to come from the middle of the pitch if possible but surman has certainly stepped up to the plate. been really impressed with him since he came back into the team and i was concerned he wouldn't have the pace! i think he's been our best player in recent weeks...
I'm beginning to suspect that Superman is either Mike in disguise and plays devils advocate the whole time, or with his inside knowledge is actually Paul Lambert, or maybe even Delia.
Hiya ILD Great to have you along for the journey. I've always liked your no nonsense approach to City and its good to have you as a counterpoint to some of the points made on some of the threads. When are we going to get some of the priceless jokes then? I am envious of you going to the matches and singing and cheering as well and glad you're having such great enjoyment. Watching it on the internet is useful but nothing like the build up and atmosphere of a match. There are some advantages to living in Cornwall but on match day there are none whatsoever.
i'm none of the above, sadly, in the case of mr lambert at least! i really don't have much insider knowledge but i do know people who work for the club and i know a couple of the players. and honestly, i don't go looking for an argument!! well, maybe i do sometimes... god i love a good argument - thats what these boards are all about
Now don't take this personally Superman, but I really don't need advice on man management. My current team at work is 65 strong with 9 different skills involved, I think I do my job fairly well and haven't so far been told I don't know what I'm doing. If only we had kept Martin O'Neill eh, who knows what we could have achieved. ILD OTBC
ILD, i most certainly wasn't giving you advice, i was merely saying what lambert's approach is. its funny, i get accused of looking for arguments, yet it appears to me some people try to start one with me when i put a point across! anyway, had martin o'neill stayed, and god i wish he had, i've always thought we would have done pretty much the same as he achieved with leicester. we are a similar size club and he took them to three cup finals. i bet we'd have ended up with players such as guppy and savage and izzet... a case of what 'could have been'...
Well in the tradition of a good pantomime villan, you would deny it, but "in the case of Mr Lambert at least", so welcome Delia and thanks for teaching me how to boil an egg
Friends and colleagues typically supporters of one the manc clubs often bring that episode up, to which my retort is you wish you had a director/ owner that actually gives a ****e about the club and shows some passion. Good ol delia
absolutely agree longsight. just take a look at our foes down the road. they know little or nothing about the faceless entity in charge of their club. delia has of course got her faults and she may not be mega-rich in terms of football wealth, but she has 100% passion for our club and i don't think fans of any club can make a case against her as if they do, it simply highlights a lack of knowledge of what she's been through with this club.
And doesn't have to catch a flight to get to a home game although it is difficult to forgive her for living in Suffolk, spat spat, there I've said it!
