Eno's On Land + Aphex's Selected Ambient Works Vol II go really well together.

I've also got about two hours worth of ambient stuff written that my old label's been asking for since mid last year but I've never gotten round to organising all of that. Probably will soon.

SAW 85-92 is better... <whistle>

That..........is...............****ing...........i ncredible! The wall of sound.....oh my god......totally spaced the **** out......!

Give this a listen, in a similar vain

Oh, and I stand by what I said a few days ago...Hurt, as written by Trenty boy...is one of the best 'Popular' songs ever written!

Hell yes, that was brilliant. So you're into Drone too eh? You've obviously got everything by Stars of the Lid right?! Those guys basically own that entire genre <laugh>. If not.. I'll not spam the video in here because it will annoy everybody else but check it out yourself if you want more stuff that is very much like that great Hammock track you just put up:

I love Suns of the Lid. Sun Drugs leaves me emtionally drained. It takes me along time to come round after listening to that!

You might like Explosions in the Sky

This is how the end of the world will sound like...

I got their album The Rescue a few years ago and hated it <laugh> but this track you just linked me to is miles better: more sparse which suits the style better in my opinion.

Really!? There isn't a bad thing they've done <laugh> Each to their own I guess. But yes, I love the whole Ambient, Shoegaze, Dream Pop, and Drone style of music. As, I just love being taken on trips. I come out of them having had millions of thoughts, ideas and even half an Epiphany once. Which was ruined when my dog once jumped on me.

I was gutted...I've never been able to get into such deep thought of mind since.

I'am indeed! I know of your admiration of Aphex Twin aswell Skalpel.

It's around about this time I'd seriously contemplate sleeping with one eye open

Ambient you say?

<laugh>! Devastating. Yeah there isn't much better than a long stare into space and letting your thoughts take over.

With regards to your other post, look into some soundtracks and modern classical. It won't be identical but some stuff conjures up very similar atmospheres, such as this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qc_5svk4TaY

Honestly, mate, I was devastated. I'am abit of a Nihilist. So, when in my mind i was starting to see what life was really all about, my dog comes in and ruins it.

Yeah, I do listen to alot of soundtracks, some awful, some amazing. I quite like Titanic (NOT CELINE DION) and Braveheart soundtracks. I know they're very mainstream, but Im very partial to celtic music.

Cross Selling is by far and away the best track off the album for me!

For me its pretty much an impossible choice between Cross Selling and Store Check. Both incredible for their own individual reasons; that tiny little theme that keeps returning in Cross Selling (you'll instantly know the one I mean here) is just about one of the coolest things to come out of 1990s music <diva>.
