...... as long as PL and the players don't think so too. Myself, I'm waiting for the fat lady to sing.
I've seen on the Pink un people saying that Holt doesn't like Morison, and after he crossed the ball he turned to celebrate with the fans and not Morison.
Its such Horsesh1t. Yes Holt turns to the crowd, but then he turns back and sees Morison running at him and the look of L
love on his little face says it all. They are enjoying the football they playing. The picture of them celebrating on this thread clearly shows that they have no problem with each other. Its all about the team, and the one person who knows that most, is Grant Holt.

I don't necessarily agree.Going into games like the next one with no pressure on to achieve a result might be just what is needed.Teams down in the relegation dogfight often seem to suffer from lack of confidence as much as anything.I would imagine that confidence and morale is sky high now.
If you look at teams like QPR who probably need 21 points for survival compared to 10 for us where would you think those points are going to come from in only 17 games?
hate to tell you this but i understand there is an element of truth in the holt-morison 'not getting along' thing. its not a football issue, more a personality thing. but these things often happen in football clubs - you can't always have everyone get on with each other! however, as you correctly say, the team is more important and thats all forgotten when they cross the white line![]()

beefy, there is plenty of evidence to support it, you just have to know who to ask. anyway, as i say its pretty irrelevant - it is not about football or who starts and who doesn't. this sort of thing happens at every single club be it premier league or sunday league, so its really nothing to worry about. people don't always like each other. the important thing is they both work well together as footballers and for our club so there is absolutely no problem whatsoever in any of this![]()
They've scored 15 goals between them this season - with stats like that, I couldn't care less if they have a daily fight in the changing rooms at Colney.
I have a feeling that it goes a bit deeper. If you watch the post match interviews with Paul Lambert, when asked about Holts impact after coming on as sub, he nearly always ignores that line and goes straight to "I thought Morison took the chance really well". I just wonder if he doesn't like the iconic status that Grant has at the club and tries to deflect that line of questioning. Also as Morison is his biggest signing, perhaps he feels has to quantify his performances. Has anyone else noticed it? It worries me a bit.
I think PL tries to promote the team, team, team and then the team again. I think you might have a point about the icon business. I think he leaves that to the supporters who are entitled to have their favourites of course. Mine at the moment is Johnson but others because of his history with us in the last three years, think Holt is a legend, and I suppose he is.
I remember the flak Martin got when he first joined us. Most 606ers thought he wasn't up to it. But PL knew his worth and was proved correct.

PS. To Superman, this is not having a go at Morison, just observations.
i have to say that is pure nonsense.
lambert, as redruth says, is all about praising the team, not individuals. he's done it ever since he got here and he won't stop doing it now. he doesn't allow egos to grow. if morison struggles with his confidence a bit he gets praised - its the arm round the shoulder tactic. holt doesn't lack confidence on the pitch but is actually quite shy off it - morison is the other way around - his head is more likely to go down if things go against him.
honestly, you are all looking into it far too deeply! these things happen in every line of work in the country. it is a simple matter of two people who don't necessarily see eye to eye about matters off the pitch and things certain people get up to. it has absolutely nothing to do with football at all and isn't exactly proving a problem on the pitch, is it!
Hats off to the lads who have scored the other 17 then. They don't get the same publicity I'm afraid.
