Let's say that we had £7m bids for both players accepted. Who would you rather?

Ps I would do a poll but I can't atm, mods?

Hooper is worth double Rhodes if not on experience then, purely because Adkins knows him inside out and he would hit the ground running straight away

Hooper for his experience and prior link with Adkins. Rhodes for potential if Hooper doesn't happen. Guessing we probably won't get either.

I would be happy with either. Logically, one would choose Hooper, for the level he's playing at, and the fact that Adkins knows his capabilities. However, Rhodes ability won't be unknown either, even if the knowlege is secondhand. He will not expect the salary that Hooper would, and wouldn't expect any special treatment, coming as he does, from a league directly below the Championship. Rhodes strike rate is also phenomenal for Huddersfield, given how many games he has played for them. According to Wiki, since he was transferred in 2009, he has played 104 times and scored 60 goals. By comparison, Hooper has played 48 times for Celtic, scoring 32 times. Again, phenomenal, and a better ratio, but I believe Rhodes is just going to get better and better, and his ratio will improve still further for Huddersfield, if he stays with them.

So as I say, either would be fine by me. Both..? :D

Wouldn't pay that much for Rhodes as he has not been tested in the championship before but Hooper has already proven at that level.

Rhodes will prickly be another Mackail Smith - amazing in L1 but quiet in the Prem

Maybe sever enough for the championship!

I would never pay £7 million for a player who basically knows nothing above L1 level. So my answer to this question is an easy one.

However, if both were available for £4 million, then I'd have to really think about it.

Rhodes is a far better finisher than CMS. CMS missed a lot too, but scored a lot because Posh went gung-ho in every game. CMS is all about the running and the workrate, but Rhodes has a bit more technically in his locker. I do think he could make it at a higher level with good service.

Its a hard one. rhodes will be a great buy for the future and a future lambert hopefully, but hooper is a ready made striker for championship and then premiership. It depends if nigel wants to risk it with rhodes or stay safe with hooper. if he risks it with rhodes and neither him or lee do well then we have wasted an awful lot of moony on two strikers. SO i would probably go for hooper but then again rhodes is a really good player and a nice bloke. (saw an interview after his 5 goals, seemed such a nice person and handled all the questions he was asked really well.) I think that hooper would be goodie this transfer window and the rhodes in the summer, if we get promoted. That would be an awesome front to in 3/4 years time. Rhodes a target man and then hooper getting the knock ons and being more of a poacher.
