Clearly, a lot of hatred here lol

Seriously, I don't think a lot of people appreciate how lucky we are to have two such talented physical strikers at the club.

Stikers like Holt and Morison are a dying breed, they represent the traditional British ideal of the beautiful game, and coming from a hetrosexual man, they are sexy and I want their babies.

Holt is jealous of Morison's 8 goals to his 7 :)

There's no problem with a little competition to get more goals! But I do love the Holt and Morison partnership!

the way Holty looked up and saw and measured his pass to Morrison was top class , we are very lucky to have them both at our club!

I think the way to get the best out of these is to do exactly what he done yday and that was have one on, bring one on later. A fully fit holt or morison is horrible for a tireing defence come the 65th minute. I must say Holty can put in mean cross...

Hi bors and gal, Holt and Morison might take the plaudits but I rated Ruddy was just as important in bringing those three points back to Carrow Road. In FACT a brilliant team effort.

Hands up, I didn't think they'd be able to play together, but they've not done badly!!
We are very fortunate to have them here, not just goals, but how they bully opponents and create space, and the tireless work ethic of both of them.

We can see how rare those type of big center forward have become by the times Heskey played for England. They're not the same as Heskey of course, but his 62 caps and several multi-million pound moves perhaps helps illustrate further the value of what we have.

Just by way of superficial comparison, Heskey's league record since leaving Liverpool:
Games played, followed by goals in brackets,
    2004–2006 Birmingham City 68 (14)
    2006–2009 Wigan Athletic 82 (15)
    2009– Aston Villa 79 (9)

Looking further back, since joining Liverpool in 2000 (for £11 million) he's only scored more than Morison's 8 on three occasions over a single season, and more than Holt's 7 on four.

That's not meant as a direct comparison, of course, but it does make you realise just how remarkable Morison and Holt have been.

Now this may be seen different by others and may not agree but...

People say grant holt for england, i could not agree anymore but i will also say could he be the difference in winning the euros and coming back early??

The reason i say this is cos when we played spain, we played a very dogged game across the pitch and spain seem to have a rather shakey defence which has been credited for some time, hes done it in the prem against some of the best defences in the league, which when there shakey or not at the game against holty he has capatalised against them. could he do it at international level, like for us as an impact sub??

Youve only got to compare him to other strikers like him who are english and you would clearly get your answer!

I know this has caused much amusement among certain supporters of other clubs, but I can't see why he shouldn't be called up. There's no one better at doing what he does avilable for England. Zamora? give me Holt every time!

We're never going to win the Euros, whoever we take. But in putting together a squad, I can't see many competing for that 'big man' role. Of those who will be in contention, for me Holt's right up there.

Many people in the game accuse him of being " an old-fashioned English centre forward, who bullies defences".

While that may sometimes may be true, to see him scorch the grass down the left flank yesterday was pure Huckerbyesque and the pinpoint cross delivered onto Morison's forehead was worthy of Antonio Valencia, who in my book is the best deliverer of a football from wide in the country at the moment.

    Holt ain't no one-trick pony, I guess is what I'm saying <ok>

Zamora, carroll, heskey, davies etc are not performing at all this season but holty seems to just do it nearly every time he plays! You take form players to majors, not big names or big fee players. BUT knowing capello he wont even get a shout for a friendly let alone a seat on the plane to the euros.

I was at the Hawthrons yesterday and saw Holt's pace down the left wing unfold in front of me - the pass to Morison was almost a replica of the one against Villa earlier in the season. The power that Morison got on the header was incredible and so gave us our 13th headed goal this season in the league (plus the 2 agains Burnley!!).

Personally, I don't care how we score, as long as we score.

PS - I thought Surman's volley was excellent too.

I note Morison has made Garth Crook's team of the week on a Robbie Savage recommendation.

I don't want to in any way denigrate Morison's performance which was great but I have to say that for me Holt's part in the winning goal was absolutely central. He was in his own half to take the first touch and from the return ball he set off on that run down the left wing that reminded me of Jimmy Neighbour.A quick look up as he reached the edge of the penalty area and a pin point cross that enabled Morison to put the sort of power in the header that threatened to take the goalie in with it.I think we are safe for this season now.
