Yes, we rolled over to Manchester Utd, even though it was only 1-0 at HT and we nearly scored a few chances, but obviously the quality of Man Utd assured the victory they required. O look, instead of just noticing that Liverpool games are becoming increasingly boring, just critize how boring Bolton are. O wait, we have scored more goals than Liverpool and conceded more than the whole league. Very boring indeed. Please, if you think I am a WUM, then you know where the door is
What kind of sadist are you that finds your team getting royaly raped week in week out 'entertaining'?
I was talking from a neutral prespective, if you know what I mean. The reason I am here is because I was interested to see how our next opponent's fans thought of the team atm, and it's all negative. What strikers have you been linked with then, if any?
I know where the exit is mate. Just under your team. We'll just keep playing our boring football up here.
So you disagree, that Liverpool are not as entertaining as they once was? You think you played exciting football? Did you see the team you put out today?
Really, our goal scoring woes are not just about strikers. No ones getting in the box. We should be getting runners from midfield. When you have Johnson and Henderson passing back and forward on the right waiting to cross, both strikers should be around, Adam and Gerrard should be running into the box, at least around the penalty spot, Downing on the left should be coming into the box ready for any balls that go right through, past the far post, and Enrique should be ready on the left to swing any stray crosses straight back in the box. One of either Gerrard or Adam can hold back for any knock downs or stray balls. Instead we are getting that situation, and either no ones in the box, Carroll's there alone or Adams lurking around the edge of the box. Some players will move to th right to support Johnson and Henderson, and the rest just watch from midfield.
Well done Stoke, and good luck for the rest of the season! Once again we dominated possesion and once more failed to capitalize upon said dominance. Our attack is like a broken pencil: pointless! Shocking game. Coates, Skrtel and Johnson were pretty good, the rest were below par. Expect better from the players, TBH. People can blame KK all they want but the players need to start burying the chances they get. Oh well, there's always the next game. YNWA I'm going to my sorrows then
There are quite a few games where I've seen Liverpool come very close to scoring 2 or 3 goals and they didn't, like the Swansea game. You need a striker who can put the ball in the back in the net, as whatever is happening now doesn't work very well looking at the game today and others.
CCC I watched the game on pc.. very fortuante that, as some have pointed out. You are not taking your'e chances. HOW we defended and still got a pt is partly due to Liverpools lack of cutting edge and some great defensive work by our lads. OUR problem, we gave the ball away far too easily AGAIN which put us under more pressure than it should have. Good luck for the season too.
We all know this, it's a matter of is Kenny going to do something about it. He must be able to see from that performance we need someone who can start banging them in
I love Kenny Dalglish: Liverpool legend as a player and a manager. After the disaster that was Hodgson he's come back as was hailed as our saviour. And yeah, compared to last season, we're in a better place. We're knocking on the door of Wembley in what is Only The Carling Cup, but hey, a cup is a cup is a cup. But the doubters and the knockers are loud in their dissent with regard to the ridiculous performances against teams we should be beating. I'm one of them. You've all heard me moaning. 6th at best I said and I meant it. Still do. With all our pissing around we're getting nowhere. Without Suarez we don't have anyone to put it in the net. Carroll isn't worth a tin of beans let alone £35 million. The only other acquisition apart from Suarez Kenny has bought who has done anything of note is Bellamy and he can't always play. In short, it's ****. We're now into January and we're still pissing around playing beautiful football. Consider how well united have played this season. They haven't. They were ****ed 6-1 at home and they've been shown up on more than one occasion. Chelsea are crap. The only reason united are second is because teams like Chelsea and us have been poor. We didn't bargain for Spurs, but if we'd put away the goals like we should've done we could've been third now. And that's why my worries about Dalglish being our manager when he was first appointed are now starting to haunt me. This was what I was afraid of: it's turned out to be not the bed of roses we were expecting. His team selections have been baffling, he's bought lemons in Carroll and Downing, he subs too late. We get a result against City in the cup and it's all yeah we're back, but then we **** up again. It wasn't supposed to be like this, but it is. C'est la vie.
Bolton, nope! I'd be lying if I said we were playing the best football I'd seen from an LFC team but not the worst either. Scoring is an obvious problem, especially at home: do I think it's all bad luck? No. Do I think it's because all the players being discussed have somehow forgotten how to strike/cross & effectively pass the ball? No to that too. I think (honestly) it's a failure to click together, not having our best eleven for a sequence of games for various reasons which would have took the pressure off some of the new buys when in the team and yes because of this I don't believe Kenny has settled on his strategy other than a broad possession type play. I like everyone find it really frustrating. BUT if you do take that luck part(even if you swap only a third of the hit the posts for goals from this season; we'd not really be discussing this. As for you, I was understandably dubious about why a Bolton supporters first thought was to go to LFC board at final whistle as opposed to his own board to discuss HIS team with fellow supporters like we are doing. Have to honestly say, my first thought after a game would NEVER be to go see what the Bolton fans were saying about their team, even if they were our next opponents. Don't think you'll find many rival supporters that would either??
People have to realise that you cant build a great football team over night, or even in just one year. You have to look at the bigger picture. Before Dalglish took over team spirit and morale were low, the football negative and we didnt look any where nar improving. But now all the players are together, happy, and enjoying their football. We had times like this under Rafa, but he kept at it and eventually they found the goals. After signing Riera and Torres things burst into life. Atm our defensive is solid, team spirit high, we dominate possession against any team and pull off some very sweet passing. I cant think of a single manager who could have done better. Villa Boas was a popular option, but he isn't doing to well at Chelsea. You have to be realistic. Even after City were sending mega money on top players they took time to find the goals. When they were in the kind of position we are in now they broke the record for the most consecutive draws. But they got there in eventually, and quite quickly in fact.
