Not being funny but I wish I'd the chance of doing an apprentice in an area of interest when I was your age. You can get apprenticeships on anything you want.

Sorry but that made me chuckle for some reason.

Like others have said, at least you're getting interviews, sooner or later you're going to deceive someone into believing you're a competent worker. Also, it's not much of a silver lining, but it's all experience, the more interviews you have the less likely you are to get caught off guard in one and the more comfortable you'll become in that situation.

Have you thought about doing something to bulk out your CV while you look for work? Learning to drive for example (I assume you don't because I'm sure you'd rant constantly on here about other motorists if you did) is another feather in your cap and could open up more job opportunities.

This is a great idea. As well as it being generally useful for jobs, it also opens up the possibility of either going into cab driving or potentially HGV driving, but also the opportunity to be self employed.

I think I'm right in saying he failed his test last week. As for bulking out your CV try doing voluntary work Tash. I know you dont get paid but it shows the employer that your doing things while unemployed.

Depends what you're applying for, it's often just a one line thing. For example, it's very difficult to be an estate agent without access to a car.

I do, only a few words towards the bottom saying I have a full, clean driving licence. And some employers seem to think it's important even if it's not vital to the role, maybe they suspect you'll be less reliable if you're relying on someone else to get you into work, or less able to work flexible hours or relocate. It also means he can apply for jobs in a wider area.

We should form a not606 Careers Service. With minimal input from Tash, the three of us have managed to nail down his ideal job. <ok>

Keep your head up tash mate, something will come along. Volunteering looks good on your CV and will give you something to do , worth a go if you haven't done any.
