Norwich to look to sign norwich legend Gary Doherty to help norwich's defensive troubles and get a first clean sheet of the season."

Why on earth would swansea want to sign ANOTHER midfielder?? I can't see us signing him personally but would be nice to attract another top youngster from the championship...

our current squad can survive this division, makes more sense to keep the faith with what we have and wait for the summer when the money could be used to greater effect, but hey I'm not Paul Lambert he can bring in whoever he wants as I know between him and MacNally they wont put our great club in the financial mess previous incumbents have done!

    Interesting opinions on this thread.
The stats show that we are the 6th highest scorers in the Premiership, but are the 6th worst for conceding goals.
I'm in the camp of: I think we're fine with what we've got, Ward is almost ready and by all accounts so is Vaughan, Tierny will soon be fit as well.
In my humble opinion I think we need a leader in front of or in the back four, a Duncan Forbes type. We seem very vunerable when teams run directly at the defence, recent examples happened in both the Spurs and Fulham games, so I feel that's where we are the weakest and need a inspirational leader/captain. I thought Bradley was going to be that man?
I really like Whitbread and Ayala as a team, they seemed to have gelled perfectly, and we seem to have any number of players who can play in either full back position. I only have/had two small concerns with the current squad, Elliot Bennet hasn't looked up to life in the Premiership, but he seems to be getting the hang of it in the last couple of games, I like his quick crossing into the penalty area, but I'm still not sure about him. Steve Morison still worries me, although you can't knock his goal tally, but his demeanor makes him look disinterested, and he gets dragged out to the left far to often, and I don't see the end result of him "putting in a good shift" most of the time. However he seems to come more alive when he's playing with Holt up front, but that's how I like to see Norwich play, it's not really our game playing one up front and it generally looks ugly.
So in conclusion I won't be too worried if we don't buy anyone in the January window.

P.S I expect a bit of flack for my Morison conmment.

ILD - I know what you mean about Morison, but I think he gives a false impression, he works very hard for the team, sometimes he gets dragged out wide because he has nowhere else to go, and, more often than not, he'll put in a decent cross!

He reminds me a bit of stilton cheese! For several years I would not try stilton because I didn't like the look of it, when I finally tried it, I enjoyed it so much that I regretted all those wasted years of not trying it!

That reminds me of my dear, departed Dad! Mum offered him some stilton, and he said, "No thanks, I don't like it!"
Mum says,"Have you ever tried it?"
He says, "No, and I'm not bloody well going to!"

    :)

Morison is currently our highest ranked player in the EASports league and Martin is our 2nd highest. I'm not aware of every criteria but some our based on goals scored, passes completed, crosses etc. So he must have done very well somewhere as he hasn't passed to a team mate all season.
You only started eating Stilton as it goes with Port didn't you Dave!

Sorry Dave, can't agree. His position is in the centre, there's not a lot of point in him crossing into the box for poor little Hoops to try to get on the end of. It's more or less a 50/50 split on the Morison v Holt debate, I'm in Holts corner! I won't query Morisons work ethic, but I don't think he's best suited to playing left wing.
Love the Stilton and your dad story, my dad was the same with Newbury Fruits if you can remember them. "****ing horrible looking things" he used to say, until one of the grand children forced one in his mouth while he was asleep in the armchair, couldn't get enough of them after that.

I'm between both of you on Morrison - on his day like vs Swansea he was unplayable but some matches he's disappeared, whether that's his his fault or lack of service is hard to tell but I should imagine he keeps surfacing on the left because that's where he can find space as a lone striker and not lose the ball. Why he never appears on the right I don't know, maybe its something to do with his footedness?
