having great players is great, but it doesn't mean you have a great team <ok>

A lot can be learnt from Torres at Chelsea.

If I'm right to believe our wage cap is around the 15k mark? Now I'm sorry but if players from league 1 or the championship etc are asking for more than that then they're living in koo-koo land. I don't know how true this is true but huddersfield want 10mil for Rhodes, if it is what has happened to this game?? No player in league one is worth anywhere near that <doh>

...apart from Grant Holt in the 2009/10 season, he was worth double that <ok>

agreed re the wage structure point, but we will need to review it all at some point (assuming safety is secured) so we can move on a little an attract slightly more expensive players. I think we need to do something like Stoke did ideally - they slowly builded year on year without breaking the bank significantly, and they are now a stable PL team. <ok>

Agree with canary_max. Lambert's tactics ( Vaughan, because of injury apart) have worked extremely well to date, but there will be a point when we may need some genuine prem experience and whoever that may be will probably not be interested for £15k (ish) a week.

agree max, but its not something we should be doing mid season. maybe at the end of the season, when everyone gets a bonus they can increase the structure by 20% or so but they still need to be able to stay living within their means, otherwise whats the point! don't forget they will be sticking to the plan - making the club self-sufficient - you don't do that by blowing your wage structure wide open on the basis of 5 months hard work in the top flight. it can go pear shaped very, very quickly
