Does anyone know if Chrissy Martin can be recalled from Palace at short notice or not? He could be needed if Jackson gets injured before Vaughan is back.
Ultimately, management both on and off the pitch were the reason we went down that season, but Gunn's injury was significant. I was at The City ground that night, horrible. Personally I'd like to see a back up keeper come in, it's something that's concerned me since the summer. Rudd is going to be a good keeper (in fact, he already is), but I would be worried if something happened to Ruddy. The thought of going through to the end of the season relying purely on Rudd and Steer doesn't feel great.
I think Rudd would be fine. not sure Steer is ready yet though. There is always the chance of making an emergency loan if the worst were to happen.
Is the emergency loan something we can just do Kenny, or do we need permission from the league for it?
Just remembered the problems Colin had with a request for an emergency keeper loan that was refused. Something best avoided!
Obviously that'd be an issue, but I feel losing Jackson at the moment would give us an option less. When we play 1 man up top, Holt and Morison are fairly interchangeable, but without Jackson we don't have a pacey striker to bring on towards the ends of games to run at the defence. Admittedly I've sadly not made it to Carrow Road for a good 2 seasons now, so Martin might not have the turn of pace I think he has.
Having offered my opinion on the Pink'un board, I'll repeat it here: If Wilbraham goes and Martin stays out on loan, City will surely need to get another striker in. I think Bennett has done a good job at the point of the diamond in recent games (a position he played for Brighton previously), so I am less concerned about back-up for Hoolahan. A holding or attacking mid-fielder would be a useful addition perhaps, but I think that the squad is sound overall and certainly capable of surviving at the very least. 3 wins and 6 draws and 9 losses would produce 40 points and comfortable survival IMO.
Lots of ridiculous transfer rumours doing the rounds at the minute, but this guy does 'fit' the Lambert criteria me thinks: http://www.talksport.co.uk/sports-n...ch-and-swansea-battle-land-brighton-youngster
Forget sending de Laet back to Man United, I wouldn't mind having him permanently, he made some mistakes but also made some decent blocks and runs and so on. Don't forget he can play anywhere in the back 4 - and that's useful because it means you can get away with 1 defender on the bench.
yes please! great prospect. only seen him the once but was exceptional and on the evidence of that game alone i reckon he'd have a chance in the top flight
not sure why swansea would want him! they've just brought in sigurdsson and mceachran is on the way. where are all these players going to play? they all play similar roles. they may have the edge though as rodgers coached him at chelsea
Bridcutt's abilities as a holding mid-fielder could be very useful and he can cover at full-back if necessary.
I think we are fine in defence. One more winger maybe. Not sure lappin is entirely suitable despite the fact he hasn't been bad. Another striker is needed with vaughan and his risk of injury, wilbraham not being up to standard and C Martin being out on loan for the rest of the season. How about vuckic on loan from newcastle?
Living in swansea versus living in Norwich, I think we have a massive advantage, who the **** wants to live in Swansea??
living in Bristol and working for a certain company that used to be shirt sponsors for Bristol City, i've been to a few games and seen Maynard and Adomah. Both would be great signings, but i think Adomah is a must. He's strong, quick and creative. With him and Hoolahan playing in tandem we would rip people apart. I think Maynard may have already had his best days, but he'd still add some depth to the squad. I think we have enough cover up front as it is though.
not every player will look at location! if he had a good working relationship with rodgers while at chelsea then that may persuade him to sign for swansea.
I'm sorry, but i still don't see why we "need" another striker. Vaughan has hardly kicked a ball for us and we've not exactly missed him thus far have we?
