While I think he is a good player, that just isn't true. Both Vincent Kompany and Nemanja Vidic are head and shoulders above Samba.

He is on a level with the likes of Cahill and Skrtel at best, which makes him a cracking player but I still feel 8 million is steep. He is not above players like Johnson, Agger, Lescott, or even John Terry.

If we hadn't signed Brown and O'Shea then I think he should have been snapped up, but we do not need him. Striker and left back are the priority. Signing too many players on top wages will bring the bad times back to the club. As there is no way we'd shift O'Shea or Brown so soon after signing them, while Bramble has been our best defender this year. Turner's wages aren't half of what Samba would be on.

Totally disagree with this, he is the best CH in the league imo too, yes Vidic is good but has had two injury ravaged seasons now, Samba is a ****ing brick wall & way above the others you mentioned. He has other qualities & is excellent at attacking set pieces.

What impresses me most about the lad though is his total commitment, he puts his whole heart & soul into every game he plays.

What you mean is Vidic is higher profile as he plays for United.

Vidic IS a magnificent defender, but he makes plenty of errors too, as do all defenders at times.

I strongly disagree that he´s any better than Samba, Kompany is a more competent all round player, but again, not a better defender, IMO.

I agree mate. Samba is the best CB in the league IMO. I would prefer him to Vidic or Kompany

I think he is a good player, but for a team with about half a dozen premier league quality centre backs and no premier league quality goalscorers, I think the priority lies else where.
