Ledley King is also out, but Harry said scan on his hamstring showed problem 'wasn't too bad'.
Maybe the shopping can wait?

I think 'Arry will still be looking at Cahill.
Has he signed now?
Good move by Chelsea. That Luiz is ****e- in central defence, anyway.
Maybe we should sign Alex?
Funny you should say that..... He has impressed me - and can you imagine the wrangling between him and Kaboul over who was going to take the next cannonball free kick???

The Chav board says it's been announced on their own TV channel, but nothing on BBC yet.
I'd settle for having Caulker back
Caulker is having a really poor season - in all honesty you should sell him to Swansea for about £500,000.

Cahill's move seems to be stalling and Talksport and The Times both reckon 'Arry wants to pay the £7M required to buy him. Not sure about his wage demands, though.
He'll probably finish up at United!
They're no doubt advertising shirts with his name on by the morning - forgetting what happened last time they did that...

Quite excited about the lad to be honest. I watched him about 3/4 years ago in the FA Youth tie at the Lane vs Arsenal. We lost 3-1 but he was an absolute rock then (Townsend had a decent game too). His loan spell at Yeovil proved he had potential, picking up all but one of the end of season awards and also won BCFC's young player of the year for them least year. Now at Swansea, injury aside, he hasn't looked out of place and I think Ashley Williams has really helped raise his game. I'm not going to say the lads a replacement for King, personally I don't think we'll see a better defender than King at the Lane for many, many years, especially one from our academy but I definitely reckon he's got all the ingredients to become a regular in the squad and possbily, dare I say it, an England player of the future.
As for immediate concerns, I don't think a centre back is a must have in the window. We've got Dawson, Kaboul and Bassong, all are more than worthy of playing for good Prem sides and above. Charlie can fill in if needed and I think the OS said King's injury isn't as bad as first feared. Start of the season I wanted Cahill, but Kabouls form and Kings decent amount of game time has put me off the idea, add to the fact he seems to be demanding crazy wages (something he's not worth), Chelsea can more than happily have him as far as I'm concerned. IF we were to sign another CB in the window, I'd want another "Gallas" type signing, a player who has 1 or 2 years of top level performances in him and who'd be happy to take a squad role. Someone like Distin/ Dunne perhaps?
Didn't Sven say it was great to join Manchester United when he signed for City? Makes you wonder whether Balotelli's realised he's left Milan yet.
