The Chav board says it's been announced on their own TV channel, but nothing on BBC yet.

It's not on their site, either.
Probably a done deal, but one that they want to announce at a press conference.

    Maybe we should sign Alex?

  5. Funny you should say that..... He has impressed me - and can you imagine the wrangling between him and Kaboul over who was going to take the next cannonball free kick???

Alex would be great, not sure he'd be willing to fight for his place with us, he wants to leave Chelsea for regular football, doesn't he?

There's also always a worry as to their wages with Chelsea players and he could get a good wage if he moved back to Chelsea as rumoured or PSG get involved.

They're no doubt advertising shirts with his name on by the morning - forgetting what happened last time they did that...

Caulker is having a really poor season - in all honesty you should sell him to Swansea for about £500,000.

Quite excited about the lad to be honest. I watched him about 3/4 years ago in the FA Youth tie at the Lane vs Arsenal. We lost 3-1 but he was an absolute rock then (Townsend had a decent game too). His loan spell at Yeovil proved he had potential, picking up all but one of the end of season awards and also won BCFC's young player of the year for them least year. Now at Swansea, injury aside, he hasn't looked out of place and I think Ashley Williams has really helped raise his game. I'm not going to say the lads a replacement for King, personally I don't think we'll see a better defender than King at the Lane for many, many years, especially one from our academy but I definitely reckon he's got all the ingredients to become a regular in the squad and possbily, dare I say it, an England player of the future.

As for immediate concerns, I don't think a centre back is a must have in the window. We've got Dawson, Kaboul and Bassong, all are more than worthy of playing for good Prem sides and above. Charlie can fill in if needed and I think the OS said King's injury isn't as bad as first feared. Start of the season I wanted Cahill, but Kabouls form and Kings decent amount of game time has put me off the idea, add to the fact he seems to be demanding crazy wages (something he's not worth), Chelsea can more than happily have him as far as I'm concerned. IF we were to sign another CB in the window, I'd want another "Gallas" type signing, a player who has 1 or 2 years of top level performances in him and who'd be happy to take a squad role. Someone like Distin/ Dunne perhaps?

Chelsea have a habit of assuming players will sign for them before they've put a contract in front of them (see above)

To add to that, his spell at Bristol playing in front of David James (one of HR's Pompey fav's) spoke volumes. Harry was very impressed with his appraisal of Caulker.

Ashley Williams strikes me as a top quality pro, Caulker will hopefully be learning a lot from him.

To be fair to Chelsea, Robinho was stupid enough to think that he'd signed for them, too.

Didn't Sven say it was great to join Manchester United when he signed for City? Makes you wonder whether Balotelli's realised he's left Milan yet.

That's probably why he was so quick to get off the pitch...
