Perhaps the amount is not upfront and in installments and add ons. No one really knows how much Blackpool have offered, but if they want him I am sure an agreement will be reached.

disrespect to the acadamy by inferring he is playing with a group of kids, probably playing with youngsters with as much talent as him but with a proper attitude to the club and coaching staff

Have we considered we are serious about Matt Phillips and this could be all smoke and daggers? I mean Holloway doesn want to go announcing they are doing a deal to sell him to us as fans would be in uproar, so by starting the Puncheon debate fans start discussing etc then the deal is done and we win win :emoticon-0114-dull:

Man, I am so sick of Jason Puncheon! I'd have him trimming hedges & picking up litter till his contract expires, just keep him away from the 1st team, & the kids.
He's got a terrible attitude, but worse than that, he brings negativity with him. All these stories, Hollaway, Bates, Warnock, its just incredible, buy him if you want him, if you can't afford him don't sniff around .

He's bad news where ever he goes, I mean if people like Warnock and Bates don't like him, he must be a complete tosser. No wonder nobody's interested in spending money on him. He's a terrible signing, Pardew's biggest mistake when he was at Saints. We need to bite the bullet as Fran says, take a cut price for him. In the worst case, we should tear up his contract, pay his compensation and tell him to jog on. However, I can't see Cortese being very willing to do that. But, the longer he is on our books, the worse it makes the club look. Get rid asap.

Ok guys, just started wondering this today. Has Puncheon even handed in a transfer request?

That's a good point. It might be that seeing him walk away with some £££s in his pocket as a result of any transfer is what is sticking in NC's craw. I was really ambivalent towards Puncheon until I saw him on Soccer AM. His entire demeanour on the show demonstrated what an egocentric fool he is. If we decide to let him rot in the academy as an example it wouldn't worry me.

It's a rather difficult situation in some respects; the teams in the market for a player like Puncheon also happen to be teams in our division who have aspirations of at least making the playoffs, and 600k looks a little less appealing if the net result is that a potential rival shores up an area of need.

All the questions and Puncheon answers on Soccer AM were all organised before he went on.
He has plenty of mates still in the Southampton dressing room but not many of the older ones and more importantly the main people. The lad was arrogant when he went out on loan and has learned nothing while being away.
I am only guessing here but reading his agents comments, he has not helped Puncheon change his ways.

If he'd played more games in the Prem, we could class him as a big-time Charlie....but in his case, he's just a wannabe Charlie. On his day, he can be a good player, but his day will probably never come with us.

Here's Jason Puncheon's response to the Ken Bates story, direct from his tw@tter account:

"Don't no why Ken bates is talking s**t never agreed to join Leeds...neither did my agent phone them now regarding me"

Classy. He's a professional footballer, yet there is not a single sign of any professionalism in him.
