what about Gerry Francis (for the 4th time). This time he would have cash to spend, have support from the board and terraces.........
Interesting that no one has commented on Benitez as 2nd favourite. I'm not sure what he would know about battling at the wrong end of a league table but he would certainly try to have the team play football which would be a refreshing change after NW.
That is ****ing quality pal even when all around you is turning to ****, you can keep your sense of humour !
Benitez would hopefully get us a little better organised at the back, but as you say, not sure he'd be the right man to keep us up??
I think Warnock is the best championship manager about and he could not adapt to the technical differences stepping up a league, so we need someone with premiership experience or we are going to struggle! Howe and Clark would be major gambles>
I have to laugh at Paul Lambert's name being mentioned for EVERY vacancy that comes up. I don't deny that he will leave for better things one day but I really can't see how a move from Norwich to QPR could better his career. No disrespect intended, QPR are a similar sized club to Norwich and might have a few quid to spend, but ultimately they are at the wrong end of the table with a squad of players that are not exactly of the Lambert Mould. He knows he is onto a good thing at Norwich and supported as far as possible by a good board of directors who trust his judgement on everything football-wise. My biggest worry on losing Lambert is if Redknap takes the England Job and Spurs come calling. Now that undeniably WOULD be a step up the football ladder. As for QPR, Hughes would be a good shout. Was doing well at Man City and (IMO) unfairly sacked just because we was not 'sexy' enough for the board. I think Hughes could do a really good job for you guys.
I agree too, Lambert is probably good enough for the Spurs job if it comes up. However, I can't see any of the other tops club going for a British manager, they never do anymore. So, apart from hoping that maybe the Newcastle or Villa jobs come up, where else is there to go in England? With the exception of Spurs, I reckon all the biggest clubs will go abroad, would he really wait in the hope that Redknapp leaves in the summer and Tottenham want him?
Someone tweeted that TF should get Benitez and TF replied "spot on", thats why his odds have shortened.
If the spurs job does not come up then suspect he would stay with us for a year or two more. As for future enterprises, Lambert played and trained in Germany and so could see him heading to a top end german club.
Gigi De Canio for me but slightly unlikely so I was actually say Zola who I greatly respect. Reality suggests Hughes which is a little underwhelming
Not yet but we only need someone to suggest Souness and we'll have mentioned ever manager still alive
Kenny, you could well be right, I sincerely hope he does get a top job as it would make a refreshing change. However, if our board were to offer to double his wages, then I'm sure he'd have to think about it.
