So, the draw has been made, and its a tasty one, at home to Tottenham! Whats your reaction to the draw??? Personally its a great one for the club, and we may have a vague chance as Redknapp made 10 changes for the 3rd round so may be preoccupied with the Premier League. COYH!
Given that it's at the Vic, we've got half a chance of a televised game. I was half hoping for Stevenage, but there's a realistic chance of facing them in the fifth round if we can get through.
Depending on their league position at the time i think they will probably field a second team, which may give us a slight chance.
Hope it's not on TV...when you travel 80 miles to get there a 3 o'clock kick off is always preferable.
Mid afternoon on Sunday hopefully. I agree that the last thing we want is a Friday or Monday night match.
Looking forward to this one, but be warned even with the ten changes we had a team of internationals. Of course it could be a very different team if we sell half those players. COYS
There'll be few players in our team that haven't played international football at some level. Most of the rest have Premier League experience. I know it's not the same thing, just pointing out that we haven't just plucked out five fat blokes and six fast runners from the park.
Good tie for us money wise and even better if we get a replay! Presume Spurs fans will get all of the Viccy Road end.
I believe they're able to demand it. Under the FA Cup rules, they're entitled to a minimum of 2,625 seats if they insist, and because of the way our stadium is laid out, there's little other way of doing it than to give them the whole end.
C'ant think of a better draw. Good revenue and just a glimmer of a cup run. And possibly it releases an ounce of the ton of pressure to sell It's happened before. Remember Ken Furphy anyone? ). Wonder if his famous team talk will be wheeled out. we're going to Wemberley, we going to wemberley, and now you going to ....... Sordell 3-1 and that's the final kick of the game
I am definitely not saying it will be easy. Spurs never do anything easy. You also have ex-spurs players in there who really impressed in the reserves. I could say that Stoke beat us with those players you mention.
Lets hope the club have improved their systems after the QPR shambles. They should make sure no Spurs fans get tickets in our end. Should ban 'orns fans who get their spurs mates in...
If we give up the whole end, surely it'll start off as a very strict "one per season ticket holder", and then a case of seeing what's left.
I have seen Spurs so called fans in action, many moons ago(1980/1) when I was based near Swindon, they had a Cup run and Tottenham came to the County Ground and took the Town end, not big and not clever I was with my girlfriend and we had to fight our way out of trouble, scary sh1t. I hope they have grown out of that sh1t now!
Do we? So, apart from Mark Yeates who last played for Spurs 5 years ago, who else do we have who played for you?
