Unfair criticism of Duke. He has never complained, he's been a great servant to the club and always given his best. A few of you could do to remember that.
I do like the " persona with all things old" theory and then goes onto suggest getting rid of one of our youngsters...........
Nobody has questioned his commitment at all. Just that he's a shocking excuse for a footballer, much like folan.
Nothing like Folan at all. Folan was a fanny. Duke has bided his time, time and time again, never complained, always been ready to put a shift in when given the opportunity. He may be lacking in ability, but he has had some decent games for us. I think celebrating a player going out on loan unless warranted is pretty juvenile. I'd say Duke was a model professional, the fact that numerous managers kept him on, must demonstrate that? He's been here a long time and has been a great squad player. Hardly his fault that Myhill was sold and he was asked to play in goal behind a **** back 4 at the start of the season!
You really are MattThe Muppet...Matt....Duke is first of all a fine person as well as a footballer who deserves better support from a so called fan. It will be interesting to see in what order you turn on the new crop of players, as you surely will.
Fine scrap the folan comment and replace him with garcia. Another player who bides his time on the bench, never complains and yet he gets criticized by many (despite the fact he never does anything wrong unlike duke). And I don't have any peeves with any other player in the city squad really. Well apart from folan (and lets be fair who doesn't?). And I think pearson building a new, younger squad can only benefit the future of the club. So I don't really have any other complaints at all
Why, Lambrini, do you imply here that Cairney will be stopping because he has been given a new contract by Pearson but yet on another thread you state the opposite with Cullen who is in exactly the same position?! No need to get your high horse when such inconsistency typical of you is pointed out.
I haven't implied on here that Cairney won't be stopping, you have, I don't think he's going anywhere(as I pointed out, he got a new three year deal). Neither have I suggested that Cullen should go, other than on loan for this season to get his confidence back. Stick to posting your own ****ed up opinions, rather than telling me mine, there's a good chap.
Lambpost ...are you being obtuse or just plain deceitful?!....what point are you trying to make here if not that Cairney would be staying!....it is I who stated he would be next out....and look at your quote on the Cooper thread that Cullen would be the next one out!.... You twerp...
Can't you just ban these nobs OLM, they contribute nothing to the board, and other forums have got rid of them?
Cairney will be staying, that's what I've said twice now, I never said 'Cairney wouldn't be stopping'(which is very poor English, but would mean he was leaving). The 'Cullen will be the next one out' is a comment on my article about players going out on loan and it's exactly what I think will happen. I don't think he'll go permanently and I've no idea if he'll eventually make the grade, but I expect him to be given time to prove it one way or the other. As I said, stick to posting your own opinions, rather than telling me mine.
It's tempting, but I'm afraid I have to tolerate the bright and the dim alike(free speech and all that). I can't actually ban people anyway, that's Mick's department, I can only delete everything they post.
I really do not like all this slagging off of Duke. As stated above, he is a model professional, has had the terrifying experience of suffering testicular cancer, never complains about being the understudy, always gives 100% and has served the club loyally for 7 years so I think the very least he deserves is a bit of respect and acknowledgment rather than some of these puerile celebrations of him leaving. Now I will agree that he is not really up to the standard we need and has lived off one fantastic performance against West Ham, (which unfortunately we still lost). He is prone to some bad errors and distribution is very poor. But I still think he could do a decent job at a League 1/2 level and he gets my best good luck wishes for wherever his career takes him. Thanks Dukey!!
Duke deserves some respect, even if he is only an average keeper. Mcshane is in a similar bracket, a limited player but a decent pro. I'd only celebrate the likes of Bullard and Folan leaving the club, mercenary waster, and six-foot fairy respectively.
