It sounded like they turned the crowd volume up to fill in the silence, luckily for ITV there were no rude chants
The Sunday Times made Stockdale MoM which is fair enough. Interestingly, they thought Solly was our WORST player, only getting 5 when the other players got 6 and 7s! Oh, and the front page of the sports section has alarge picture of Paul Benson celebrating his goal...
Nothing wrong with the mirror.. Oliver holt is one of the best journo's out there. Most of the team, bar Darren Lewis, IMO are impressive.
The MoS picked out Bradley Pritchard for special praise. Very amusing comments about Danny Murphy's less than enthusiastic reception from the Charlton supporters as well. Charlton coverage is always good in the Sunday Mirror.
Sullivan, Taylor, Green, Pritchard, Hollands, Jackson and Kermogant all got 7, the rest 6 apart from poor Chris Solly. In the Fulham team, Stockdale, Murphy and Dempsey all got 8, but Zamora and Senderos only 5, which seems harsh on the latter.
No comrade - The Middle-Class on Sunday - reading it in a coffee shop while having a leisurely latte on my bike ride this morning...
The Daily mirror made Pritchard the worst player on the pitch with a "5"! Mind you the whole report was merely an interview with Dempsey, so he probably wasn't there. He gave Stockdale 6, Solly 6 and Frei(who didn't get past Solly all match) 7, among others.
Sorry, it would have been Mirror on sunday. Didn't see the rating, but in his write up he praised Pritchard. Where was it in the paper today - I couldn't find it oddly enough?
Am I the only one who thought Pritchard was the weakest player of ours on the pitch? Not that he performed poorly, he just didn't perform anywhere near as well as the rest of the side. Similarly, I thought Wiggins was a bit dissappointing, our main threat from the left seemed to come from Jackson, which is unusual as he usually holds off and allows Wiggins to make the most of his pace and crossing.
Where would you stand on Hollands partner for Saturday, WWOCB? In an ideal world, Stephens would return and tear their defence apart with his through balls.
Funny how different fans can see things differently. What I liked about Pritchard is the way he makes himself available all over the pitch, doing the simple things helping someone out and giving the ball to someone in a better position. Not spectacular but very important.
