By the way, on Bet365, a 2-1 win to Newcastle and the first goal from Enrique nets you 195/1 odds. Could be worth a quid.

I can never bet on Newcastle. Too much emotional attachment to add a financial one as well.

I did win big predicting Sunderland to finish a season with 18 or less points though <whistle>

I bet a mate at work (who was a neutral supporter) that the Toon would finish above Sunderland, we got relegated :(
    Bastard still wanted his £10

An Everton supporting mate of mine said that Newcastle would get relegated in 2001 so I told him to put his money where his mouth is. The wager was £20. I said that Everton would get relegated and offered the same wager.

A month later we're a bit drunk and bravado came to the forefront and the wager went to £50.

A while later during another Friday after work session we raised it to £100.

    Then it went to £200.

    £250

    £500

    £1000.

Everton did look like they were possibly going to go down. He panicked, the wife forced me to relent and it went down to the original £20.

Everton survived and we spent £40 in the pub to celebrate.

I live in Cardiff and they are not playing great at the moment. I'd say that games a draw all day.

I also think that Wigan will get a draw

Think I'll just stick with my usual bet, Toon to win and Nolan to get the first goal.
