hardly a surprise. lambert oozes naturally ability and dignity, a man destined for the very top of the game. meanwhile, warnock is a loud-mouth who has done well for himself considering his limited managerial ability and lack of tactfulness.

I think limited managerial ability is unfair to Warnock. He has done well for all the clubs he has managed and most if not all have tasted promotion or success.

you misunderstand me redruth. i meant his ability is limited in terms of comparing him to lambert. i mention he has done well for himself despite his limitations. he's an excellent lower league manager. lambert seems destined to be a top, top manager, and that is what i think he is jealous of lambert for, and he is certainly jealous of norwich - he always says how he'd have loved to manage the club but never got the gig, then when we beat his team (as we always seem to do) he accuses us of everything under the sun. pure jealousy <ok>

Imagine what Lambert could do with the money he has spent at QPR in the summer and probably will do again this January...I'm pretty certain it wouldn't be a load of second rate Premier League players flirting with relegation!

They've made a five mil bid for Samba. Now that would be an insanely good buy! His wages would be c. 60k don't you think? What Lambert could do with those funds...

I'm not so sure.I really don't think that money is the answer.Just look at some of the teams in the lower half of the table. There are players in there with multi million pound price tags, then look at what we have.I don't see Premiership rivals knocking down the door to buy our players and it's because they are a team that amounts to much more than the sum of the parts.

I am guessing that confidence and morale is sky high in that team at the moment and it runs throughout the whole set up.Players,Manager,Management team,Directors,Supporters.I have followed City for 40 seasons now and really, this is the best.Rivalled only by the early 90's but in my view better than that because of the sheer unexpectness of it all.

You're probably right. I think even if PL had that sort of money,he'd still look for bargains and the right sort of player etc., making clever buys with the extra bargaining power. That would maintain the ethos and, as you say, prevents another team unsettling a player like what happened with Charlie Adam. I think that's probably why Pilks was dropped... Stopped him being unsettled, and now he's back better than before.

well i'd argue samba would be a very good signing for qpr but surely a) he is worth more than £5m, especially to blackburn - why would they sell to a relegation rival and b) spurs and arsenal are meant to be chasing him - he'd go there before qpr.

qpr appear to be lodging bids left right and centre - i bet their current players are dead chuffed! <doh>

ok, they need fresh blood but none of these bids are realistic. samba £5m, andy johnson £1m, yakubu £1.5m, nedum onuoha £2m, james collins £3m. its like they are making a statement 'we have money to spend' but also come across as not really knowing what to do with it. i bet they end up with a load of players that they don't know how to fit into a system. there is no strategy - just throw money at it. it doesn't work and there are more rocky times ahead for qpr i feel...

I see that Warnock is offering 5 million for Chris Samba.Has he not noticed that the team of the player he wants to buy is below his own? He will most likely just end up a demoralised QPR player rather than a demoralised Blackburn one.Plus he will have to play alongside Bellend Barton.

There was another article about Colin in the telegraph today. 5 days later and he can't be stopped. Surely a fine is round the corner!

Will link it later as I currently cannot.

As for lambert, I don't think he could have dealt with that any better and whether he talked to or fined johnson it doesn't help talking about it.

i wonder if warnock fined barton for his sending off. i bet he did. would be interesting to know how much of all this guff he says in the media is what he genuinely believes and how much is just to keep himself in the spotlight and his teams failings out of it...

'I'm just totally focused on my own team, my own game, my own club'

Good to see that ultimately Lambert won't be distracted from what matters.

It's not being paid to do a job, or even being skilled at it that truely earns you the title, it's the way you apply yourself to it and behave.
Lambert in his time here has earned that title in spades, Professional.

I think we can say without doubt that had johnson done what barton did to him then lambert would have stayed quiet and we wouldn't hear the end of how johnson is a dirty player from colin and barton. They twist the story the way it suits them.

Bet this was bottom of lamberts agenda this week and top of colins.

Also here's the telegraph article I was talking about.
