Come on guys and gals can we please get back on topic. A few of you have made some shall we say close to the mark calls. I do appreciate though that a lot is said tongue in cheek. Criticising each others knowledge of football is one thing, personal comments is another. I don't want to close a perfectly good thread because of a few of you getting carried away. So lets get off the subject as to who has better coaching knowledge. A final say on this, someone has criticised our Jen for being a girl and not having much football knowledge. Let me advise you she has more knowledge of football matters at Saints than quite a few of you. We do not want that kind of comment on a Saints board. Male or female are equal on this board so any comment that relates to gender or discrimmination is likely to be punished most severlely. This is the first time in a year that we have had to mention gender discrimination......make it the last!
Having watched Newcastle United batter Manchester United with Ba, Ameobi, Best and Tiote I wonder do we have anyone in the youth squad with a bit of height? Sinclair and Hoskins are skilful and fast but are they big/strong enough for centre forwards? I mean don't Saints score with headers quite a bit. A good header of the ball that plays up front for the youth is maybe McQueen. The first choice youth back 4 are all big lads. Some of the opposition defenders are tragic in the air. Big lads that should be good in the air often jump way too early and get beaten by an ankle biter. I think Callum Chambers and Joe Curtis are both fairly hefty for their age too.
Chambers looks exciting on the ball and Curtis certainly scores goals. I don't know why the latter has been overlooked regarding pro contract. He isn't a natural winger/striker though is he? Hope NA gives some youth a chance up front on Saturday.
they'll leave his year group to the end of the season as thats when their scholarships expire however I don't think any will get a pro deal bar Corby Moore & Steven Mowthorpe - if Curtis contines his form then he may get one as well
