Hi, just checking in before we beat Man Utd 4-0 (got drunk last night and put a quid on it - 365-1) and wondered if anyone had any recipe ideas for the following:

Potatoes,
Brie,
Bread,
Quorn

I'm tempted to cover the brie in breadcrumbs and a some left over crushed hazelnuts, and then fry it for a few minutes.

As for drinks, can I have a vodka cherry coke while I wait? I'm not really a fan of vodka but I don't have much money at the minute.

Slice the potatos into thin fritter shapes and boil them. Fry the quorn and melt in Brie towards the end. Add quorn and Brie to the Potatos on a plate and serve with bread.

I detect a disturbing lack of meat...

Hope it turns out alright, I used to eat similar when I was at University and rarely had anything in the kitchen besides potato, pasta and cheese!

Think I'll be making this when I go back to Manchester too <laugh>

Any more killer recipes on the cheap? <whistle>

Courgettes are really cheap. Buy two, slice them in half lengthways and top them with cheese, onion, mushroom, sweetcorn (or any other standard 'pizza topping' you have handy). Roast on a baking tray (lightly oiled) for about 45 mins or until it looks nice and browned. If you're adding chicken or meat, it's best to cook that at least for a short while before adding it to the courgette.

I'm no chef by any means but being strapped for cash makes you inventive <laugh>.
