Yeah but the OS says "Lee, who is a leading light in Asian football, is training with the club at Staplewood whilst the application for the work permit that would allow him to permanently join the club is reviewed." So pretty sure "in talks" is badly worded seeing as that makes it seem it's just a matter of waiting on paperwork. Also pretty sure Don wouldn't allow something to go on the OS if it wasn't certain.
Haha hopefully he won't. Though his Twitter suggests he doesn't like rain so trust he'll be off in summer when he's had enough
Hi Guys and Gals Have a look at this link: http://georgeweahscousin.com/2012/01/04/lee-on-solent-japanese-star-jets-in/ Haven't read myself yet, but its questions put to a french journalist (who covers J- League) about Tadanari Lee.
Not sure how many japanese live in Southampton but I think you can bank on longer queues at the ticket office! Good business move from the Don!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kmWe26pU8G0 Lee is number 19. He shows some great movement and overall he looked very dangerous.
Is it just me or is everything that I hear about this guy make him sound more and more like Guly?!? Maybe with a little more pace. Don't get me wrong I am a huge Guly fan so thats fine by me! Sounds like a top signing. Good work scouting team I think
Eiji Kawashima would be another brilliant player to bring in if we are looking in Asia. Ever time i see him he puts in a great performance (in the Asia Cup in particular). At 28 he still has many years left in him.
From that video, it looks like he wants to play on the shoulder of the last defender. Could be pretty damn useful considering the way we try to open teams up.
Really pleased if it comes off. Been lacking in attacking options lately so good to see us looking at international level to further the push for promotion. oooooooooh tadanari , he's a striker , does martial arts..........
His signing should also guarantee a massive increase in matchday stream links for those of us unable to worship at St Marys!
Until it's all 100% official, I wont be treating him like he's one of ours. But yes, it certainly all sounds very promising. But we can't sit back and rest - we'll still another another player or two as well. And ideally before Forest.
Obviously Saints are pretty certain he's going to get a work permit, otherwise I doubt they would have put this on the website. As st brendy says we still need another 2 or 3 players imo. Let's just hope that Guly and Steve are fit before the Forest game!
With Lee already training wouldn't it be nice to see him play against coventry. It would be the perfect chance to slowly get him used to the physicality but at 6ft something that should not be a problem
