The other thing that comes with Asian players is image rights, and they generally want ALOT as they know about the impact the increased interest from South East Asia has on the club. For example Dong-Lee Gook was on a similar weekly figure at Boro and ended up costing the club a fortune as he didn't settle well at the club and was being paid handsome image rights every time he played.
As I mentioned on another thread, the chance of getting a work permit is increased if Lee is a top earner. His image rights will help fund it as well.
