Can't believe anyone ever beleived this bullshit. He's not on the books of his club, his name sounds a lot like 'Heskey' and his Wikipedia page was only recently created before being deleted as a hoax.

The YouTube video was a generic highlights video. Plus he's a defender yet shows all the qualities of an attacking player.

The only sources for it were Twitter (completely unreliable) and comments sections (utterly unreliable). There were no reliable sources whatsoever for the story, none of the football correspondents (Ryder, Douglas) ever RTed or talked about it.

It's absolute horseshit and I can't believe anyone fell for itl.

Possibly because he's only been in town for a couple of hours. And most of the press won't actually know who he is. Like I said, he may as well be a tourist for the next couple of days, making sure he'll be able to adapt as he's obviously very young. No doubt he'll be at the ground for the game against Man United.

Who said the jason prior rumours were solid? They're still rumours. It's what we do. Pick up on rumours, and get over enthusiastic about it. I doubt he's that good. But, we've been linked and we just made a good joke about it.

Actually read the whole thread.

The reason it was took down is because people were editing too much saying he signed for Newcastle. Wikipedia get's notified to this and shuts down the page because all the edits make it look unauthentic.
Happened to Artetas before he signed fo Arsenal.

FootballAgent9 is it? Bloke on twitter, very reliable with info. I've got sources as well, I was as sceptical as you at first, so I sent a few texts and made a few calls, this is no hoax.

every youtube video of a defender has him attacking and scoring goals hardly any of them have them making great tackles/blocks/defensive headers

This. We joked about Hooper and Prior. This lad has potential, we know little about him, I know a bit about him, not much. We've been linked and we're acting like we've signed the next Pique.

He's checked in at Jesmond mate, from what I heard they flew out a couple of days back, talks opened and they've flown him over here to see if he'll settle easily.
