Don't get all this Obertan hate. Yes, he isn't brilliant, but lot of fans slagged him off before he even played a match.
Imo, he isn't a right winger and would do well just behind the main striker like he did on his debut v Arsenal. He can't cross, but has pace and skill - think he would do well there but maybe thats just my opinion.
What I have seen of him, he doesn't look as awful as people say. This is actually his first full season as a first team player, so needs to be given time

People just love a scapegoat around here. He's nowhere near as bad as people make out.
Too true. I've seen some people say that he's the worst player we've ever had, which is just ridiculous.
I think he is mate. I would love to be proved wrong but I can't ever see him coming good tbh.

They just like someone to scream at during the matches I think. Guthrie and Simpson recent examples as well. I suppose it's the same people saying Gosling should never play for us again on the back of one bad game.

There's not really any sugarcoating it, Obertan at this moment in time, doesn't look like a good player, I'm not unhappy because hes fit I'm unhappy because his recent performances haven't warranted a place in the starting lineup when we have other options we could be taking a look at.
He has all the potential in the world to become a great right winger for us but unfortunately for whatever reason, lately he seems even further away than when we first got him from achieving it.
Needs to work harder and earn his place in the starting lineup, perhaps with a few bench cameos.

The problem is just that he doesnt seem to be improving on the frustrating aspects of his game; terrible decision making and lack of passing vision being the most obvious. He is valuable as pressure releif and can put in a shift against his opposing fullback but he just so often buggers up decent moves that it figures some people are going to start getting pissed off and shouting kneejerks.
