I was there and think it may have been a bit of all the above?! I reckon there was a fair disatance between Hobbs and the keeper, as he was pushing up due to there being no time left in the game. Most of the players just wanted to get the ball in play and push up. Interestingly, discussing the lack of a GK on the bench with one of the club's staff before the game (I sit next to the dugout), it seems Hobbs would have been the one to don the the gloves! TWF is just a stupid boring troll and I don't even think he was there to see what happened. He just likes being melodramatic and making sweeping statements...
I must need glasses. I was sat in the West stand and was sure Basso had been beaten at his near post. Wrong, the shot went across him but IMO he could and should have done better.
yes he can actually, his passing has dramatically improved whilst he has been with us. We play proper football!
Okay, so we played Basso and there was a huge turn-around in fortunes - not! All of the scrotes who hammered on about Gulacsi being dropped on form failed to see his injury and, lo and behold, we don't even have a ****ing sub! Same old , same old: no goals, no idea and the general performance dropping against a very ordinary team of bus-drivers!! They call this a reversal of fortunes and teams can go into terminal free-fall - pull the ****ing parachure cord now and stop all of the pathetic posturing - if Barmby wants to be a manager then sign up now and take full responsibility, it's starting to get to be a bit of a circus!
Hobbs isn't a 'dickhead' and doesn't deserve to be 'stripped of the captaincy' I thought TWF had given up trolling, obviously not.
Really where does this gem of information come from. You don't risk the result of a football match because you don't like someone. It IS NOT PROFESSIONAL!
NO the back four SHOULD of done better! At least two of them fell over in front of Basso thereby stopping him getting to the ball. Mind you the muppet that asked for the pitch watering at half time deserves shooting
It was a poor goal to concede and one that a playoff chasing team shouldn't really be conceding! Chester was mainly to blame for me but it would be unfair to single out individuals, particularly Chester who on the whole has been a magnificent signing. Basso should have stopped the shot yes but again, everybody makes mistakes and on the whole he has been a good signing. Hopefully Steve Harper will be with the club in time for Saturday, then it is a case of bringing in a new striker. In terms of the pitch watering, I cannot see how that had anything to do with us conceding!
he didn't ask Hobbs to take the goal kick he just want him to come closer for him easier to kick as he gets a sharp pain in his knee when he does kick which comes and goes that is his problem he told me.....the pain goes after he has kicked the ball but the problem needs sorting
If we get Steven Harper from up north, the goal keeping spot should not be a worry anymore. As for our recent lack of results, I think it may be a combination of the fact we've played a very tough cookie (Middlesbrough) a team on top form (Burnley) and we were looking rather tired and in need of a rest yesterday - in particular Cameron Stewart. A bit of a re-group and a few new faces will help no end.
storm in a tea cup re.goal kicking. a new keeper will sort out any minor issue there. if any of the back 4 need to take Basso's goal kicks i would prefer it to be Dawson. just saying like. what has Basso done then to upset the squad ? thought they preferred him to Gulacsi ?
A few points to clarify: 1. Where does this "Basso is disliked by everyone" rumour come from? 2. Basso speaks perfectly good English, I talked to him in 2007 when he played for Bristol City and his English was perfect. 3. Hobbs is a good captain and should keep that role.
Really? There were plenty of people calling Bullard that who got offended about TWF defending him? Bullard bleeds clubs of money whilst acting unprofessionally. Hobbs puts a team mate's health at risk by forcing him to risk aggravating an injury which we've all known about for weeks even though the lack of a fit goalkeeper would represent a significant threat to our promotion campaign. With regards it being the whole of the back 4, I wasn't there, but Humberside had spent a bit of time being surprised that Chester had been moved up front rather than Hobbs at this stage, so it might be more a case of the back 3 at the time.
