    Supremely uninterested in Modric.

Good player, great at Spurs but don't think he's worth more than what Chelsea bid for him before.

Think he works great at spurs mainly in a 5 man midfield but he's no midfield enforcer and if your going to splash 30+ mil for a creative goalscoring CM there are plenty of better options. Hell theres a better option already at spurs.

**** me sideways, are we still debating this ugly little prick.

He's good, but FFS let it go...spurs have two class players to speak off and a good squad to back them up...the difference is the way that everyone knows who the boss is so they all get on with it.

If we had a few less chiefs and a couple more Indians we'd be as cohesive and wouldn't have lost five games already this season.

The point is we have the personnel, just not the mentality...that is on its way and will coincide with a couple of departures in the not too distant.

You are comparing apples with oranges. When you look at the facts, our possibly being out of the CL for a season would be as freakish as your having been in it for a season.

Generally speaking of club loyalty. If all players of all clubs in the EPL were given the chance to play for any team of their choice, I'd bet less than 5% would stay at their current club.

Fair comment but you can't argue that this Spurs side is much better than it used to be.

If we qualify for CL football this season, we would have qualified 2 seasons out of 3, players will then start to take us seriously.

You must be slightly concerned, why has RVP not signed a new contract and why have others left?

If's & but's. We have a history second to none when it comes to qualifying for the CL and are well placed to get there again at the end of this season. I think it reasonable to assume we will be in the CL more often than Spurs over the coming seasons based on that alone. However, if that isn't enough to persuade a player, the strong liklihood that Bale, Ade & Modric will be gone in the Summer might be enough to turn them away from Spurs and towards a proven team like Chelsea or Utd.

RVP is probably negotiating to get the best deal he can from the club. Wouldn't you? As for the others, which team doesn't lose players? Sol for example...

Poor arguement really, you're suggesting nothing ever changes.

That's exactly what is history, no one is guaranteed a top 4 spot look at Liverpool.

I agree that no one is guaranteed a CL place, but on recent history, managerial & player experience etc we beat you to the favourite spot. Anyway, it will all be moot in a few months time and at least you still won't need a sky subscription to get to see your team play on TV most weeks :p

Disagree again I think our squad is on par with yours now and has come along way over the last few seasons.

Don't own sky I'm afraid - although that will soon change as F1 has sold its rights to them.

I think any footballer is always considering their future, even in a "keep their options open" kind of way. Most players don't like to give 100% public commitments, regardless of their current situation. They also know that the threat to leave is often a great bargaining chip for wage negotiations - Rooney and Nasri both used it to get the wages they wanted, and Nasri showed that the threat to leave can be very serious.

It's hard to know exactly what the situation is with Modric, but it's probably fair to assume that he will try to leave again in the summer if Spurs miss out on the CL, and they'll struggle to keep him a second time. But then again at least one of Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs are likely to miss out on the CL this season, so you could argue that RVP, Wilshere, Mata, Ramires etc might all be wanting out if their club falls off the gravy train. Whilst they may not leave immediately, I expect their respective managers / chairmen would be in a similar position to Levy - bullying them to stay with the promise that they will get back into the CL next season.

Piskie is on a one man mission to get Modric transferred - even mentions it in an article about some has been returning to the Library. Luckily he has zero power to make it happen.

Spurs were only just below Chelsea and Arsenal last season and have a much better team this season. Chelsea are about the same as last year and Arsenal are clearly worse. If we don't get third place I will be very disappointed. History won't affect the results!

Thought Chelsea were second and Spurs fifth; more Spursdays for Tottenham next season.

Chelsea squad much stronger and spurs have had their purple patch

Since when is 5th "only just below" 2nd?

Were Fulham "only just below" Spurs last season as well then?
