I think the most salient part of that article is where it questions whether Sharp is the type of player we need.

He is ready for a move, it would seem but can he play alone in a 4-2-3-1?
A really good point to make, Is he able to play to City present style of play and 2nd point, is he really good enough for City especially if they get promotion? Some-one else asks is any better than who we have got , I know he scores goals but so does Matty.

IF Sharp does end up at City then its obviously not for the money. Which in my view is a massive plus. 2nd, he would take some of the pressure off Matty which is not a bad thing either. The point i have noted from all this "speculation" is that Sharp has reportedly said he wants to join Hull. Not long to wait either way.

at the risk of sounding impish, why would he want to play for a rugby team. If he wanted to play for Hull CITY, I would understand it more!

well it may help keep him occupied on a sunday and during the summer months as well as to maintain fitness. on second thoughts i think your being impish ;)<eek>

We also have Waghorn,Beckford, Howard and Schlupp. I would prefer some wingers and and a new midfield ace to be honest? You can have Sharp for me.

How much more money will your owners and fans insist on spending (not to mention the wages) before you realise that good teams are not bought, they are built. If I were the owners of your club I would tell Pearson that he has to work with what he has got.

Without meaning to sound negative, I'd say the other teams can offer him more than us. Wigan are premier league (even if for now) Leicester would pay more in wages. Southampton would be more on our level but i'm sure he would chose them given the league position and team.

Wigan will be championship next season. Leicester are not an attractive club right now - money is not everything. He's already turned down Soton. His advisers have already been rumoured to have given Hull City 'the nod' that he'll come to the KC if we make an offer of £3M.

We just need to make the offer then......... Allam's - it's over to you lads! :)

You're living in la la land mate.

£3 million for one player plus wages? In this division? Not worth it. And stupid.

Think you've missed a step out there!

I'm sure i've read it on the 'net somewhere that he didn't want to leave Yorkshire because his wife has set up some sort of trust after the tragic death of their child. If that's true it looks even better in our favour unless TWS go in for him.

TWS won't spend that kind of money, not while Bates is in charge.

He lives in the Sheffield area I believe so we are easily commutable for him as are Lesteristan.

He won't go to London and he won't go to Wigan, Ipswich or Southampton.

Its looks like we have Offered 3M so the 2M wont be enough and we would offer him 20K a week

If the bid is accepted of 2 million it will be enough, even if you offer 3 million , because it comes down to the decision of one person Billy sharp himself. It wouldn't surprise me if he decided to stay at Doncaster , he seems honest and loyal. Mayb he isn't motivated by money and would quite happily play for a club that appeals to him even if for lesser wages, whoever gets him will be getting a good player though

Just supposing Sharp did sign for us.....what would be the responses of those Lesta fans who post on here? :emoticon-0105-wink:

Interesting....!!!

I think you will find that they will say that Mr Sharp will suddenly become a 'no hoper' who joined a club with 'no ambition' and he 'isn't really good enough for us Thai Foxes anyway'...... 'we need players of the quality of Andy Carroll in on loan, where we are going this season'. (so nowhere then?)

I'd just love it if he signs for us over the 'LLB' (L£sta Lady Boys).

.

I think that TWS have it all on to keep there best players this January. Clubs looking at Messrs. Snodgrass(Wigan) Becchi(Boro) and with Howson now out injured until March at the earliest it does not look that good for the whites.

imo, the drive from sheffield to hull is better than the one to lesta. just saying like.....:emoticon-0116-evilg

You do not think that Chelsea and Manchester City have bought success then? Dont get me wrong I would rather Pearson plans for next year now,but the owners want instant promotion and to be honest its better than previous times when we had to sell to survive. I bet most teams in the champianship are scared of losing players trust me we have been there. So dont begrudge us a bit of fun? in time it will go full circle again.
