good players adapt, nothing more to say on that! <laugh>

if anything, its up front we require more players than in defence. that may sound a bit odd but we have had so many injuries to our defenders that its made us look light in that department. if holt and/or morison got injured/suspended, does anyone honestly feel jackson, vaughan (if fit) and wilbrahimovic can score goals at this level and more importantly, can they provide the same sort of physical and powerful forward line that we currently have? they offer different variations but maynard is strong and skillful. i'd shy away from sharp as i said above - i don't think he's any better than the players we already have. anyway, as you say, i'm sure lambert will surprise us all by signing someone we've never heard of and within six weeks they'll be a superstar!!

Knowing Lambert - as we now to after 2.5 seasons, I think it's fair to say he knows which areas of the pitch need strengthening and has prospective 'targets' in mind already.

That's what happened with Pilks, Morison, and a few others. Bennett was different, but only because he wanted to stay and help Brighton get promotion. <ok>

I agree with the comments above which said certain squad players will not really 'do it' at this current level, so if they could be used as some kind of player plus cash deal, that would be ideal - as long as the arrangement suits all parties.

...and knowing lambert as we do, its pretty easy to sift through transfer rumours and know if they are possibles or not. such as this little gem...

kris boyd is one of the laziest footballers i've ever seen. if lambert signed him i'd be truly amazed! he simply cannot hack it unless he is in a rangers shirt and even then, he barely scored a goal against celtic or in europe. all his goals came against st mirren and inverness!! add to this his massive wages and complete failure to adapt to english football and i think we get an answer.

so, this rumour is awarded the '0% chance of happening' award. congratulations clubcall <applause>

<laugh>

Now that is a cracking finish lol

Is it or just me or a bit concerned about the lack of players we are being linked with and the ones we are linked with I wouldnt go anywhere near ie Andrews zigic and Boyd <doh>. I know that it doesn't mean much but i would like to think we would get linked with the likes of Maynard, especially after the news that he will be sold!

i wouldn't worry too much. none of the players we get linked to ever end up at carrow road! as i said above, we know lambert inside out now and his style of recruiting - he will no doubt surprise us with a couple of transfers we would never have expected! i read somewhere once that only 2% of ALL transfer rumours printed by newspapers actually come true!!

No surprise to see the Sun and the Star and the bottom of this table <doh>
