This is from the new shirt release in the Echo. The kit will not have a sponsor. There will be a sponsor and fans will be able to go to club shops when sponsor is known and the club shop will apply it for you if you like. I do not comprehend how people do not understand this :emoticon-0102-bigsm

I would imagine the sponsor will be sorted in time for the home kit release, but maybe they do an option without.

I didn't think of it that way but you might be right. That would be pretty unique, the only thing I can think of similar is when Barcelona put the UNICEF logo on their shirt front for nothing. The publicity and good press they got for it was out of this world at the time.
Was also a way to con their fans into agreeing to sell front of shirt in future…

I would imagine it will be the same if no sponsor is arranged yet. You take your home shirt to the club shop and they will apply it for you, or buy the shirt with it already applied when sponsor is announced. The pink shirt will not be available to buy with a sponsor at any time (probably to cater for USA market), but it will have a sponsor on players shirts when we get one and you can get that sponsor logo applied in club shops retrospectively if you want to. It's like drawing teeth here :emoticon-0140-rofl:

What will the do for games then ?sponsor or no sponsor?Tha punter adding to something they have bought on a individual basis is different from official sponsorship .The elvis estate must have agreed a position on this?

The players shirts will have a sponsor, if and when we get one. You WILL NOT be able to buy a shirt with a sponsor already applied AT ANY TIME. But, you can have the sponsor applied in any club shop retrospectively if you want. The Elvis Estate has no say what you do with the shirt after you buy it. It is now your property and you can do anything you like with it, including having a sponsor applied .

Are you directly itk about this?I understand the individual stuff but are you saying the club could put any sponsor they want onto the pink shirt and they can do nowt about it ?The elvis estate is very protective of the image so im surprised there are no restrictions?

The club themselves have said you can have the sponsor (when announced) applied in the club shop. It is not my opinion. It is what Sunderland AFC says themselves. If there is no sponsor on the players shirts why would the club offer to apply a sponsor in club shops retrospectively when the players don't have one. Elvis estate is getting £5 for every shirt sold, that's why it is £5 dearer than the other 2 shirts.

Not a single mention from the official Elvis Twitter, and there's nothing listed on the official Elvis website.

You'd of hoped the deal would have meant the estate pushed the release like we have.

It isn't really a "partnership" we are in effect paying them to use the Elvis logo's (£5 per shirt) which the club is then passing onto fans. Only selling at Graceland so they can sell more shirts and earn more money in the process.

I dont want to be seen as argumentative mate so please dont take it that way?I get the above totally and although i may be having a blonde moment but there is a difference between the club playing the game with a sponsor on the shirt and the elvis estate agreeing this and folk buying a shirt and individually deciding to put the club sponsor label on it.... If the elvis estate couldnt give a monkeys about his image and are just interested in the lolly per shirt sold well that makes complete sense signing a blank deal and that would get round the "anal itch cream" sponsor image problem. I suppose lets wait and see mate we will have a new sponsor sometime in the near future and lets view whats on the shirt when it has its first outing post sponsor deal.

I am not arguing with you. The club is.

Currently in the queue inside the club shop. I’d ordered the varsity jacket online in Large but medium is the perfect fit so getting that today as knowing my luck by the time I return the Large size there will be none left!! Great atmospheres in the club shop - they’re blasting Elvis music through the speakers!! If anyone is thinking of getting the half zip training top - it’s amazing!! The material is a lot thicker than I was expecting as well

In fairness mate, it only states that the shirt will 'stay that way at retail for the duration of 26/27'. Nothing about what the on field version will have, which is what I think @Mart is intimating? As an example, we as fans bought last seasons home shirt at 'retail' without the white patch whereas the on field shirt had the white block on the back for the players name and numbers.
