Graceland, the legendary Memphis home of Elvis Presley, welcomes around 600,000 visitors each year. This massive annual turnout makes it the second most-visited private home in the United States, right behind the White House

A Sunderland shirt is going to be for sale here. Mind blowing

Whoever at the club got our foot in thr door with brand Elvis is about to make us a ****ing fortune.

Its some of the most original marketing we have ever seen. Maybe even in the entire Premier League

It's an omen, mate. You're having a pink slice with pink blancmange for tea washed down by a few glasses of pink gin, before your lass tells you she's driving you all to flamingoland on Saturday in a pink Cadillac. The gods have spoken :emoticon-0105-wink:

My mate is an Elvis impersinator, owns his own Indian restaurant. His names Amal Shukup

Just seen we will be selling it at Graceland. As I say whoever came up with this idea/concept is a marketing genuis.

Like it or not this top is gonna make the club an absolute fortune

"The shirt will also be available at Graceland in Memphis from early July, as the Black Cats head to the United States for a pre-season tour this summer. The Elvis Kit will also be available in conjunction with each of the club’s US pre-season matches."

Absolutely superb stuff

Been thinking about the kit and this is my take on it.

The last 2 seasons have leaned into the nostalgic part of all of us when we had Hummel the first time -the G Force home and away tops, 92 Cup Final top and then their version of the 86 home shirt, shirts that they knew Sunderland fans would lap up and love. Now I think we're aiming for a more global audience and America in particular and what a more of a global image can you get with Elvis? Plus it ties in with what Burwell mentioned on that business podcast. People in America will probably have heard of Sunderland through Netflix but that won't put money into the club, pair the club with this iconic image and then you might just make a difference.

The top itself is starting to grow on me a bit, it reminds me of a 50s shirt (shock!) with pictures of Grease and that era going around in my head. It reminds me of a polo shirt you could wear when on holiday without really looking like a footy top. In a way it symbolises where we are at the minute - we need to expand our presence in the game. The club knows that if we stay on the nostalgic path, we as fans will still buy them in our droves but the club needs more if we are to go up against the so called big 6 now and that means looking past the north east

Plus it gives the club the perfect music to play after we've beaten the mags at home or away again after they bigged up what they would do to us this season

From a quick Google and ai search, the elvis brand will be taking a percentage of all sales as payment for using the name / brand.

The biggest money wont come from the shirt sales but from future sponsorship deals that will show prospective companies we have access to huge global brands like Elvis.

Its a hell of a deal no doubt about it, but potentially more a medium to long term gain than a quick boost

Tell you what, it’s all over the national and global football pages (with like from Kyril…)

As has been said it’s a marketing masterstroke and it’s got lots of folk talking about the lads.

Every view of it it gets a bit more appealing.

The pre match Hawaii shirt is absolutely bastard mind <laugh>

At 61 I'll admit I am not down with the kids anymore. Does bastard mean good or bad now?

Probably the reason it's £5 dearer to the other kits

First reaction…….. I hated it. Looked at it a few more times………still not sold on it……kept on looking……..it’s growing on me! I’m shocked!! I also think it won’t look as good with a sponsor on the front….which I never thought I would say in a million years!

I wasn’t too sure at first but I really like it. Not so much the long sleeved version, but never a fan of those. Love the look of the fabric too. Hopefully I can get when I’m over in August. I’m not one for wearing them just walking around town but I’ll wear at the gym.
We were planning a trip to Memphis in October but now it’s been put off until next year. Stayed overnight in Memphis a few years ago but never got to visit Graceland, or other iconic sites, so hoping we can get there next spring.
