Ive looked for the climate change thread and cant find it...

Watching Look North lunchtime and the weatherman said last night was the hottest night since 1949... on another channel we aren't at the hottest June yet which was in 1957 and 1976.... was there no climate change in those years or preceding years...or are we just expected to buy into the programme like good little people..

A single day's temperature is weather, not climate change.

Weather reflects short-term atmospheric conditions, whereas climate change is determined by long-term global temperature averages and shifting weather patterns over periods of 30 years or more.

Climate change is not demonstrated by extremes but by patterns.

For example the hottest ever 3 years globally have been the last 3. The hottest ever 11 years globally have been the last 11.

Years in which the UK had temperatures exceeding 35c.

20th century: 1906, 1911, 1932, 1948, 1957, 1976, 1990, 1995
21st century: 2003, 2006, 2015, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2022, 2025, 2026

Noticing any patterns?
