Wilson has had 6 good months his whole career when he was trying to earn a contract somewhere. Leeds will of paid well over £35m for him probably with the wages he will be on over the length of the contract they have gave him

Good signing for Leeds that if he can carry his form on into next season. I do wonder about when Leeds will start adding some youth to their squad though. As far as I can tell they have 1 (one) player under 25 and that is Gnonto. The only effective model available is player trading and that relies on selling potential to make significant profit rather than just players in their prime age (at least generally).

He was on £55k a week at Fulham and reports say he is near to £90k a week (same that DCL gets) on a 3yr deal with option on a 4th.

Over three years £14m - Imagine if he was under contract at Fulham, and we offered to match £55k a week and we signed him for £7m would that be great business, I think so and both ways equates to somewhere in the region of £14m

We are after Shea Charles and had £20m turned down by Southampton - Personally I don't feel he is worth £20m so I hope we don't go back. Our youth coming through is very poor at present. He'd be worth that if he was signed and developed for a season or two, he is not going to dislodge Stach or Ampadu and I feel £20m for a prospect is a luxury we can't afford this coming season

I'm just glad that we are being linked with different players to you guys at present!!

It’s a very good signing for me.

I actually think shea charles would be the better of the two signings, so mature for his age and a brilliant player.

I believe your offer to Wilson is higher than 90k a week but we'll probably never know the true value for sure - I think it's a good move considering he probably replaces Aaronson in the XI and will bring more output. But as you've mentioned you barely even had a player eligible to win player of the season and are now looking at deals for two thirty year olds on high wages, definitely need to add a bit more variety.

Wilson turned 29 earlier this year - 150 PL games under his belt, he will be a replacement for Aaronson who is 25 and I'd imagine we will keep him. Ampadu is 25, Stach 27, Okafor 26 - I have no concerns over any of them being past their prime

Neither do I, but that wasn't the point I was making.

Misread your post, two thirty year olds, my brain is frying in this heat, I read it as deal for a 32 year old

Also to add, I do like checking in on your transfer rumour thread, it beats the click bait newsnow site, I think you all do a grand job posting them all.

Yeah Brandt and Wilson will be on big money with not much sell on potential, was just a comment that maybe you should be supplementing and funding these sorts of deals by signing younger players like Shea Charles (but not necessarily Shea Charles) to sell on and better suit the financial rules.

24/25 season he only played 1160mins, year before 1600 and year before that 1100. This season just gone nearly 2700mins. So in one season hes suddenly played 70% of what he had in the 3 years prior. He has turned up for half a season in the last few years when he is after a move. 29 aswell and will have absolutely zero resale value. In the new world of SCR thats extremely important

Glad we stay away from signings like this

I think the plan this coming season is to cement our place in the PL and not be involved in a basement squabble. It seems like we are spending wisely for accounting purposes until the new ground expansion is complete and that will then enable us to spend more. I can see Tanaka and or Gruev being sold, we need to get Harrison off the books, we could do with selling Dan James too

We do have three academy players who might progress, if we do get Charles for around £20m and then Brandt and Wilson on a free, that is great business (despite me feeling Charles is a luxury) and leaves us £50 to spend still.

If you have £50 leftover then I have an excellent player to sell you. He's called Luis 'Goal Machine' Hemir Semedo. I am willing to give change.
