This seems deliberate, surely it's not all happening by accident ...

... and, of course, shirts mean more to Mags than all other football supporters <doh>

"I have a written a letter of complaint to the head of operations at Newcastle and Adidas. It says…

"Hi there, I am writing to complain about Newcastle’s new home kit. I have been a toon fan since childhood and can honestly say I have never seen the club produce such a bad home shirt. I am disgusted by it to be honest. It offends my eyes. And I am not alone. 99% of the reaction to the shirt on social media has been negative. We all hate it.

It’s already been labelled the barcode kit and has other fans laughing at us. I can guarantee this will be the worst selling Newcastle kit of all time, well done guys. The most disappointing thing is that Adidas is producing some lovely kits for other clubs. In fact, the Juventus shirt which obviously uses black and white stripes too, is a thing of beauty because it is clean, elegant and has style. Also… fan designs of our shirt that were put together in 5 minutes are significantly nicer than what you have produced. It’s also embarrassing that we still have no shirt sponsor. If this changes before the season, then fans will have bought a different shirt to what the players wear. Therefore, they should be entitled to a refund. Every kit is important to its club, but at Newcastle it means even more. The shirt represents everything to our fans and our identity. I strongly advise you to liaise with supporters before finalising next season’s kit design. Good luck with the shirt sales

Yours sincerely, Ruby."
Didn't PT Barnum ,funnily enough a circus owner say there is "no such thing as bad publicity"Im not convinced being known for Frank Spencer level of incompetence ,arrogance and entitlement will serve them well in the future.

There's definitely been a distinct lack of the Barcodes around mind for the past few weeks.. I've looked in all of the nooks and grannies, Gaps , pedestrian crossings and usual places but it seems they've disappeared completely underground.
Went through Ponteland Airport this morning and only saw one b/w strip- old version. Unfortunately for the wearer and their family there was a problem with the wearer’s passport. It looked like the wearer would have to miss the holiday. You couldn’t make it up!

Was in the Fellsider in Whickham this afternoon and a bloke in there had the new top on.
Hard to believe, but it actually looks much worse in the flesh than it does in a picture.
Honestly, anyone who was 50/50 about getting it would surely go to the club shop, look at it, and think, nah, im not having that.

Ah but you've forgot about the mag mentality. They're brainwashed to recognise anything that contains black and white stripes is good and anything else is bad!

Denied access to Europe!

Even the Border Force are trolling them.

Seen a few people wearing them around Washington! They are hideous!!! On the other hand, I popped down to the club shop earlier today to look at the new trading gear and it looks very nice. Could have spent a small fortune!

Sorry for the length of this post but I think it's worth it.

While I was waiting for the Scotland game to start I was looking through the various Mag blogs to see how they were handling players turning them down, Tonali wanting out, World Cup and the fixtures, etc.

They almost all avoided mentioning Sunderland, as they've done since the derbies, but discussed the teams either side of us in the table. With one of them, the ‘Geordie Journos’, they were talking about Munoz and how unjust it was that Liverpool had 'hijacked' their signing. Then they started debating which players they could expect to sign and what price bracket they'd be looking at.

They decided it would be around the £30m range and similar players to Munoz. Then they discussed which clubs were in that market and which had the necessary pulling power to attract them which might be greater than Newcastle's. Then one of them waffled on through the usual suspects of Spurs, Brighton, Villa, etc until ....

'OMG, which club has the structure, the finance, Europe and pulling power capable of beating Newcastle to a signing we've specifically targeted ...

... nooooo!!!'
