I wonder with 48 nations in the World Cup, thst an awful of potential players.

I suppose any Italians, Welsh or Irish?? Will be the only ones free for medicals etc
Wouldn't be surprised to see us swerve the world cup completely. Personally think we'll target players who just missed out on squads (France, Argentina, Spain etc)

We like to get value for money and they won't be much value kicking around at the world cup imo

I reckon we need at least another 'fox in the box' striker to complement the existing players. More if any of them leave.

We seem to have lots of wingers..but their quality?

Midfield and defence need back-up cover

That’ll explain why Spurs are making a move for wor sandrer so early then.

IIRC Steve Bruce brought in a couple of South Americans following their participation in a World Cup.. didn't work out very well.

Although, this Kane or Mbppe might be worth a punt?

Attention around Parma’s Mariano Troilo is growing, with Fulham and Sunderland battling for his signature.

The centre-back joined the Italian club from Belgrano in 2025. After a slow start, the Argentine grew in stature and played 21 times in Serie A. He started each of the club’s last seven league games, helping them swerve relegation.

The defender made sure that Parma never felt Giovanni Leoni’s absence. He replicated the Italian’s impact, after he departed for Liverpool last summer.

Sport Witness have covered how Troilo himself is attracting attention from clubs, with Brentford appearing keen. There are signs a move to Fulham or Sunderland can go through this summer.

Parma’s valuation clear

ParmaLive note Troilo’s second half of the season specifically attracted interest from multiple clubs.

Fulham and Sunderland are ‘ready to invest’ in his signing and have been left impressed by his skillset. They are leading the race for the 22-year-old, with Parma said to be confident about the player’s potential.

Ideally, they wouldn’t be keen on selling him. However, the realities of Italian football mean that they’s accept €30m, which could potentially come down further.

Yes he did. Difference now, as we all know, is that the club do a lot of background stuff to make sure the signings will fit in.
It wasn’t Bruce, but anyone remember Scocco? A great player by all accounts but it was clear he never wanted to be at SAFC right from the beginning.
