Kane...2-2...Croatia......H/T.

Watching all this passing back to Pickford from behind the settee.....our defence look vulnerable .

England...4-2...Croatia.....F/T.

Kane...(12mins pen & 42mins).........................Baturina...(36mins)
Bellingham...(47mins)...........................Musa (45+5mins)
Rashford...(85mins.)

Too much playing back to the keeper.....just waiting for a cock up.

But three great points to top the group.

I’d love to have been a fly on the wall during the half-time talk!

It wasn’t so much the passing-back to the keeper as the passing it about inside the box - sometimes half a dozen passes - sooner or later that’s going to be punished.

Still, a great result against what has been a bogey team who, after all, had have reached international semi-finals and a final. They are rated 11th in the world, four places below Brazil, two below Germany and above the likes of Belgium, Uruguay and Italy.

Tuchel’s not making the mistake of picking just the biggest names but a team with a style in mind. The omission of Trent Alexander-Arnold is a case in point - a player with great skill in search of position to play. Full back? Wing-back? Central midfield? He’s been tried in all of them.

I saw a graphic somewhere of where England’s attacking threat came from under previous a manager or managers, I can’t remember which. Previously 80% (ish) of England’s attacking threat was coming down the right. Under Tuchel, it’s split much more evenly - 55/45 ish. A big difference……

Harry Kane needs to be looked after.....played the whole match which I thought wasn't a good idea........Saka and Rashford only played a small part but they are essential to England's success going forward.

It's noticeable how deep Kane was dropping to to pick the ball up: a play-maker now as well as top goal scorer. A modern multi-purpose attacker rather than an old fashioned No 9.

Rashford is in cracking form. He's completely unrecognizable from the disillusioned and dispirited player at the end of his time at Manchester United. What a cracking goal this is. Rashford risks giving that defender a hernia. SeeYaLater!

England...0-0...Ghana...F/T

Unable to break there defence down.....and where very lucky to not have a penalty given against us near the end.

Rashford needs to start.....and Saka as well.... we need to risk his fitness.
