Yeah, I'm with you. Goes without saying how disgraceful your last two league campaigns in particular have been and it should never have taken you almost getting relegated for this proactiveness in the market to happen. But what's done is done now, you can only live in the present and so far, the early signs under this new regime are good.

Obviously, more is needed and you need players to gel, get used to the team, environment, what the manager is asking from them etc. But as a building block, it's pretty damn good going.
What I’m liking is the methodical approach to most of these signings so far.

Robertson is just a superb LB regardless of manager or system and instantly improves us but in Senesi and van Hecke, I saw a stat page a couple weeks back that showed Senesi to have been the most progressive ball playing CB last season with van Hecke in third, we know De Zerbi likes to build from the back and so we’ve signed him the two best possible CBs we could get for his system (van Dijk was second on the list so no chance there for us), the fact he knows van Hecke is even better.

Tonali (should it happen, feels doubtful but I’ll try to be optimistic) represents a player who can dictate from deep and help his side control possession which De Zerbi wants. Personally I’d have preferred a more attacking CM/ ball carrier to compliment Bentancur but a Tonali x Bentancur pivot can absolutely work in RDZ’s system.

The only player I’m completely against is Savinho. He represents this wave of player who looks amazing on YouTube comps but over a 90 minute game does little to impact it. I’ve said before he’s Mahrez without a brain and stand by it.

It's good to know that ex-COYS Daniel thinks that we got our pants pulled down on the PVH signing.

The bare faced gall of the **** who swapped signing Skriniar for Clement Lenglet and Bastoni for Joe Rodon...and, shortly after, paid out fortunes on sacking the hugely expensive coaches involved.

Penny wise, pound ****ing mental! I don't care who runs the club, as long as this ****ing loon is nowhere near the reins.

Don't beat about the bush, buddy! Tell us what you really think! <laugh>

I'm done with him and all the BSoDL. I don't care who runs it, it can't get worse than post-stadium Levy. He became the gold standard of ****ing uselessness.

It shouldn't be possible to spend what we have done in the last few years and make things as bad as they became.

Watching HK, last night, should remind us all of what we threw away through Levy's ridiculous last decade. We should have racked up the silverware and he should still be with us.

Make no mistake DL acted as he did so as to address his considerable 'small man' issues, maintain his personal fiefdom and not dilute his share of the profits. He was even pimping himself out to potential buyers as the best man for the job, should they buy it...

****!

A few relatively reliable journos are claiming we've moved on from Savinho and have opened talks with FC Koln for El Mala.
Not sure if the word "reliable" belongs there, given the main sources saying we're in for Said El Mala are TEAMtalk and Football365

What makes it especially sus is they're claiming that we're offering to sign Said and his older brother, striker Malek El Mala...in spite the fact that, while Said has broken into the Koln first team, his older brother spent the last two seasons on loan at third tier Viktoria Koln and second tier Koln II

Also, signing a couple of players of Lebanese descent is likely to raise Peter Herbert from his crypt...

Anyone who spends £60m on Richarlison has no right to question anyone else's underwear alignment.

He won’t come out and say it directly so says things to people he knows will leak it.

Did it with Harry about Igor Tudor and now Simon Jordan about Van Hecke.

I’d steer clear of both. Savinho’s been tripe and I’ve long said wide forwards/ attacking mids from the Bundesliga often never cut it.
Currently the options we're looking at on the LW are...
Savinho - barely played for the Mansourites in the past two seasons
Malick Fofana - missed half of last season with a sprained ankle
Said El Mala - played the grand total of one Bundesliga season

Jean-Matteo Bahoya seems to be the best choice by default. Why would Levy do this...?

See the thing is, cos you is so busy sitting on the fence and refusing to commit I dont know where you stand on the levy question <whistle>

Something doesn't add up with this

Jordan has been needling Levy for the best part of twenty years at this point, both as a pundit and a columnist, so that's the bloke Levy supposedly texted to criticise the van Hecke deal?

There's a 25% chance one of his podcast mates Piers Moron or John Terry sent it knowing he'd bite
