The locals protested quite intently about the incoming DIE-versity.
The great irony being that one councillor in that
locale is Rachel Millward of the Greens.
You should be able to find vid footage online of
the public meeting between the electorate and her.
I just dislike people in general. Don’t care if they’re white, black, brown etc.
The older I get the more I realise why people move to rural places in the arse end of nowhere.
Been through Crowborough quite a few times, but that would have been decades ago, so had to look at a map to refresh my memory - A26 on route to Uckfield, I remember now.
I can see why people would be pissed off that way, they probably see it as being dumped on. Although I did always think they we would use and should use barracks, which makes a tad more sense than hotels.
To be perfectly honest I don't think politicians give a **** what the British population think anymore, certainly not since the days of Blair.
I heard a second generation migrant arguing we should take more migrants a few days ago and this is the problem, everyone we've given a home to, no longer cares what we think. If you dare say anything you get branded racist.
I've got no problem even migrants coming here, I just don't think that should be invaders coming across the channel on a dinghy, everyone that comes via that method should be sent straight back.
I'll try and seek out that video sometime that you mentioned.
@Sucky dislikes people in general as well, but he gets called a racist. I'll tell him to move to a rural area, just avoid Crowborough. I reckon Cornwall would be ideal for him.

I’ve found that living in cities and towns, you can be surrounded by people, but you just want your own space.
It’s a good balance for me here. There’s enough going on with other people, but I’m happiest when I’m just on my tod with my rocks and moss lol.
Yeah I get that. It’s why I like Glasgow, it’s got loads going on when I want it but also never more than a 10 minute drive away from empty fields and woods to walk the dog

I think Sucky just likes to be edgy. Probably likes to see how far he can go before I ban him.
He's never struck me as an aggressive person nor seen him entice violence. I think the root cause of the problem is bots on Twitter and it's chief owner failing to do anything about them.
Thus people go to there and then spread the misinformation to other sources of social media, such as here.
I saw one bot earlier on there, trying to claim to be British but the word phrasing was awful. It wasn't an uneducated person it seemed like someone trying to navigate the language and **** stirring.
My personal view of twitter is I want to see more authenticity of it, a way to check what location a message came from, and all videos and photos dated and time stamped with their original date. Seeing a bit more of that latter with tv media, but there is still a long way to go.
I think it should be on the poster to prove the authenticity of something or at least be able to prove it's sources, ie include a link to the source. Would make my life a bit easier when checking stuff, oh and stop screen dumps of Facebook ie is that the same knife crime that's been posted thousands of times from seven years ago lol, and just constantly being regurgiatated to cause friction and bad feeling.
There is so much race baiting as well, it;s not just the racists, it's also the bait that does it to get a reaction, to cause an argument. People who claim they are not racist but goad someone enough so it encourages them to post more racist stuff - then disguise that as calling them out.
I've lived near the Welsh borders for a while between Hereford and Ludlow. Lovely countryside, but not much going on and a 40 min drive to get to any real semblance of a town. There were lots of very isolated folk out that way.
Where I am now, there aren't many towns at all, so it means the few that are here are good hubs with plenty going on. And they are 5 min walks away from proper wild landscape where you can feel completely out in the sticks.
Last time I was on the Hereford/Wales border, we called in for a saturday lunchtime pint, the bar was closed so went into the lounge, landlady apologised when we asked if we could go into the bar for a game of pool, sorry she said, last night we had some English and Welsh young farmers in, a friendly game of pool turned into something very different, all the cues got snapped and used as weapons, took the police 30 minutes to get here so it was complete carnage, it needed 3 ambulances to take the injured to hospital and 2 coppers were assaulted too, she says people think its boring around here,amazing how well she took it considering her bar had been smashed up

When I lived up that way, the Young farmers clubs were the biggest social scene for the yoot.
Basically just another version of a city centre nightclub for the rural youngsters, massive piss up and a place to pull.
Those Welsh / English border tensions have never really died out though.
I see that the spirit of the Welsh longbow men was reappropriated in the form of a pool cue upon your visit

I noted yesterday, that the report was released in to rape gangs, I've not seen anyone mention it.
I could have posted up Grok's view of it, along with the report, but I didn't because I recognise it's one mans, one particular party pushing out the so called independent report, claiming 250,000 children were effected by the child sex abuse claims via Pakistani gangs (87-95%) - I read everything that Grok has to say, but I don't know how much I can trust it, how it's been primed by Elon Musk. I've not made that number up by the way, Grok really did say that, but who knows what fairy dust it uses to collate the firgures. Nor am I belittling the numbers, I don't know what to believe.
See what i mean, it's hard to know what to trust anymore, because there is hatred right across the spectrum of social media. Most of it not time stamped or dated, most of it you spend time looking for original sources, I certainly don't trust Facebook as a reliable source no more that I do Twitter.
Facebook v Twitter scenario, who do you believe, personally I don't, question everything. There are evil people in life, it don't make a whole population, nationality or religion evil.
Some have agendas. Generally in social media it's to stir the pot. Every far-left nutter and far-right nutter has an agenda. It's how you seperate that out for the moderates.
Anyway I've seen the government have put data up since 2025, so it's legit, to post content from it in my eyes...
Baroness Casey's audit of group-based child sexual exploitation and abuse
The Home Secretary updated the House on the National Audit on Group-based Child Sexual Exploitation and Abuse ('grooming gangs') carried out by Baroness Casey.
Baroness Casey’s audit examined local level data in 3 police force areas. Greater Manchester, West Yorkshire and South Yorkshire where high profile cases involving Pakistani-heritage men have long been investigated and reported – and there they found the suspects of group-based child sexual offences were disproportionately likely to be Asian men.
She also found indications of disproportionality in serious case reviews.
While much more robust national data is needed, we cannot and must not shy away from these findings. Because as Baroness Casey says: “ignoring the issues, not examining and exposing them to the light, allows the criminality and depravity of a minority of men to be used to marginalise whole communities.”
See those two words in there, 'minority' & 'marginalise'. I think we can apply that to both the scenarios I've discussed.

I posted some stuff at the time about how people, especially women were treated by the Israeli security forces.
There were allegations of beatings and sexual violence. All over seen and gleefully championed by that self proclaimed fascist Ben-Givr, who took delight in filming the abuse, taunting the victims and posting in on social media.
We've seen over the last two years especially that the IDF and associated security forces, private contractors like GHF as well as actual Govt ministers is the Israeli Govt are basically terrorists and thugs, masquerading as legitimate players.
