Only saw some news clips without sound but I must say congratulations to Scotland for winning the world cup, surprised me. Fans celebrating in the streets and all over the news, they did win it didn't they?
Crazy to think they were once one of the best teams in the world. Admittedly that was back in the 1870s and only England, Wales and Scotland played the game, but still...

FIFA do many **** things, but they're clearly not going to allow companies free advertising at the world's biggest sporting event.
But the names of these stadiums are already their official names and are already in place.
Imagine it was the MKM Stadium, Hull.
And now we go live to the Hull Stadium for the Group F match ...
Nah, it's mad, given the stadium is already officially called what it's called.
If there wasn't these stadiums and host countries then there would be no World Cups.
Seems so petty, unnecessary and plain stupid, and all the more ironic given the way FIFA sells it's soul.
The people's game eh.

It’s nothing new, when UEFA host European finals at stadiums they don’t use the sponsors’ names. When the Under-21s played at City years back they referred to the Hull City Stadium, iirc.

You think the people’s game is defined by everyone using stadium sponsor names for all fixtures? Thats a unique view.

Err, I didn't say that did I. Another one who's good at making **** up.

Headline from NBCSports. Shows I'm far from the only one who thinks it's bonkers.

Levi’s leans in to absurd FIFA requirement that stadium names be changed

It's the same for every Euros and World Cup, I can't believe anyone has not noticed this before.
