well, granit was much as expected, talbi is a player that does not go running around to be on the ball all the time and so far wilson has been putting himself about and had a couple of half chances, could be a decent game this.

Haiti the lowest ranked team were better than Scotland. Job done for the Jocks though. Now it’s all about damage limitation in the next two games and hope they can squeeze through. They’re a really poor team, though.

Tonight's games look interesting to me the most, Netherlands/Japan will probably be a cracker.

Ivory Coast v Ecuador as well, that'll be a fun watch, if Germany don't beat Curacao by a large cricket score, then they deserve to be grouped again.

Enjoyed catching up with the Scotland match and the post-match.

Gannon-Doak caused Haiti all sorts of problems. He looked dangerous against us when he was at loan at Boro.

Haiti had the very close header that went just past the post. I bet those in the stadium thought it was going in.

Roy Keane on Turkey losing 2-0 to Australia national soccer team in their World Cup opener:

️ “I don't want to hear excuses. Before the match, everyone was talking about Turkey as if the three points were already in the bag. Well, football doesn't care about predictions.

Australia looked like a team playing for their lives. Turkey looked like a team waiting for something to happen. That's the difference. One side competed, the other side expected.

What annoys me most is the attitude. You can forgive mistakes. You can forgive missed chances. But you cannot forgive a lack of urgency at a World Cup.

Australia won the physical battle, the mental battle, and in key moments they won the football battle too. That's embarrassing if you're Turkey because they were supposed to be the team making the statement tonight.

Some players will look at the tactics, some will blame luck, and some will point fingers elsewhere. Nonsense. Start by looking in the mirror. World Cups are not won by talent alone.

The harsh reality is this: Australia arrived believing they could win. Turkey arrived believing they should win. One mindset creates history. The other creates headlines like this.”

Didn’t see that one coming that’s a superb result for the Aussies.

Turkey SHOULD be very good but they never turn up at tournaments
To be honest Mrs K and me were cleaning the house prior to going on holiday so not concentrating on the game. We sat down and watched the last 20 minutes or so with a coffee. From what I did watch I thought Australia looked very well drilled in defence. Not that I know anything about football tactics mind but it seemed that every player knew what to do.
I’ll just say though that if it’s ever England v Australia then I’m shouting for England every single time.
