Taking off the rose tinted binoculars for a minute and looking at it objectively.

We want to improve the squad and you'd assume he'd want to be starting so who from our central midfield would we bench for him right now?

We can't talk about he'll replace X player when they leave as they haven't left so it's got to be a good incoming move on it's own merits and I just can't see it being of benefit to the team personally.

Quite frankly **** Ross Stewart if he goes to Boro.. years of perseverance with his injuries, we help get him to a World Cup & he goes to the worst club minus Pompey rn & one that’s owners wormy ways (in part) cost him a chance in Prem next season

Agree if he goes to Boro that’s outrageous. But at the moment it’s all just agent-noise and clickbait-journalism. Think we’re going to be seeing Boro as our ‘rivals’ in quite a few transfer rumours this summer.

And let’s not pretend that our fans have always been patient and understanding towards Ross. Quite the opposite. Throughout most of his time here, the sentiment from most has been, ‘get him gone’, ‘waste of money’ etc. Now that he’s fit and scoring, those same fans are crying that he isn’t loyal if he moves. Classic fan behaviour. Shameful and childish.

Like I said, irrational. I completely get why he would do it. But it would feel wrong to join that joke of a club after we stood by him during his injuries.

That's probably where we differ, I dont consider them a joke of a club at all. Very similar club to us.

Really can't be arsed with this faux rivalry. I see Boro no differently than I see Bristol City or West Brom.

Normally, I'd agree with this sentiment, but this was the club that got us thrown out of the Playoffs (OK, we were stupid in spying on their training), so I am not surprised at there being a degree of bitterness, combined with pleasure at seeing them fail on the pitch against Hull

I don't want him going to Boro because he would massively strengthen them (if he stays fit) given that their main problem has been putting the ball in the net, and in theory they'll be one of our competitors for league position next season. It's also why we should just get the deal done because it will be a lot harder to replace his goals and we don't have a good record of finding strikers.

Lol. Exactly the attitude I was talking about.

“You would expect Ross Stewart to show a bit of loyalty after he did nothing in his first season here.”

Oh, sorry for being injured, buddy, ffs <laugh>

If there is any blame for Ross Stewart’s signing, it is with the club, not with the player.

Isn’t Ross going to Boro a bit of a cunning plan to get one of our agents into the club, so we don’t have to send an incompetent spy next season.
