Given how NZ batted this am it could be that the pitch has eased up a bit, though there's still some inconsistent bounce....ultimately it's not good enough for test cricket for a pitch to behave like this on days 1 and 2, an even worse look for the ECB when it's at the 'home of cricket'....if this ends tomorrow there's going to be a LOT of lost revenue on sunday, and for the ECB that's more important than the result!

Lords pitch has been a bit **** for a couple of years now, it was a poor pitch vs India last year and there have been a few too quick results in recent times.

jeez, four wickets for one run. going to be difficult to match the first innings total. fingers crossed nz can't bat on it when they're back in.

These sorts of games used to be extremely rare but they seem to have been normalised now. Poor pitches? Poor players? Too much white ball stuff? All of the above?

Whatever it is it needs to stop. Got a ticket for day 3 at Trent Bridge later in the month and I shouldn't be wondering if the game will go that far ffs

There was a stat on TMS saying something like 6 of the shortest duration completed matches have been since 2021 and 3 of those were England matches.

Really can't remember the exact details, but you get the drift.

Lovely to see us put that lot to the sword like that. Had many painful evenings at their hands over the years in T20. Not a huge fan of the format but we need to win it simply because it gets the most attention of all the formats at county level, and it bugs me that we've never won it and they have.
