I love all these fans of other clubs quoting that we are ****ed financially, they just ignore the fact that since KLD took over our losses have shrank dramatically and 99% of football finance experts say we are very well run.

Yet Toby from Leeds or Kevin from Newcastle have spent the past 2 days in their mams spare room working out our finances to the penny.

Its not like we won Sunday and the whole board went "**** why didnt anyone tell us the SCR rules and Uefa rules"

we have overspent last summer and in Jan...

We broke FFP rules from overspending

we are under investigation

The fact we have the audacity to be doing well when EVERYONE had us down to fail is upsetting the applecart.

the likes of Mags and Leeds dont like it. at all.

I might be wrong but I think the person asking in what sense thought you were saying we are worse off under the new rules?

Only reason I say that is I thought the same for a second or two then realised you were on about Leeds fans saying we are worse off than them despite the evidence!

Honestly can you think of a player, anywhere, that plays like Xhaka? His calmness in possession in tight spaces and ease of passing range is unmatched globally, I can't think of one player like him. Don't get me wrong, there are other world class centre mids but they have different skillsets and attributes that Xhaka doesn't have.

I can think of a few.. but unfortunately they’d cost £100m+ and play for the worlds biggest clubs.. :emoticon-0102-bigsm

He’s easily the best PL transfer of the season and for me, the player of the season. I don’t think Bruno Fernandes getting about 14 of his assists from set pieces is as impressive as leading the club who were nailed on for 20th place to the Europa league.

But we NEED someone who can fill in if he pics up an injury next season or needs a rest. They mightn’t be as good as him and it will be very unlikely they’ll have the leadership qualities he does but someone who at least knows the role and can play under pressure allowing us to leave Sadiki and Le Fee in their preferred positions. It’s a massive bonus for the centre backs having such a calm player infront of them. I’d be all for signing another older head who’s happy to sit on the bench most weeks rather than someone who’s learning the role.

A few posters on here mentioned Anton Stach last summer before he went to Leeds. He'd have been perfect.

Completely different player, even Declan Rice doesn't have what Xhaka has, he is much more mobile though to balance that out. I can't think of one player that have the attributes of Xhaka, not at Madrid, not at Barca, not at Citeh, not at Bayern and not at PSG.

We’ve just got £170m for finishing 7th in the league and iirc we’ve got the lowest wage bill in the league of the 17 clubs who survived…

I’d be amazed if we have breached FFP based on that one summer window considering how young our squad was upon promotion. Wages and bonuses nowhere near that of the Leeds squad. We could spend. Season ticket prices have rocketed and it’s sold out every week, better sponsorship deals, European football etc plus potential player sales so going forward we’ll be more than fine.

I think rice is a bit overrated tbh but Kimmich, Vitinha and Pedri are head and shoulders above the rest for me. Not literally because they’re all ironically quite small but technically for sure. Although 2 of them rotate as 8’s because they have so much of the ball whereas Kimmich doesn’t tend to. I think Rodri was the benchmark for a proper big ****er of a 6 like Xhaka until his injury.

Xhaka brings that leadership that’s unmatched though.

Xhaka's passing under pressure is sublime, some of the high passes out wide when he has two players on him, even Rodri in those circumstances is passing on the deck. Gourmet.

I dont think anyone let alone Leeds or Mags supporters can question our financial well being, I think I will trust KLD and the board with that.
Its almost like the 5 year plan was fluked if you believe that bunch of knackers.

There’s a league table doing the rounds with the premier league clubs finances, you’ve probably all seen it, and we are on top of that league with the least spent, the lowest wage bill and something about amortisation.

Not only are we top but it’s by a huge amount.

If the table is correct I cannot understand how some people are saying we are in money trouble.
If we are then surely every other club is much worse off than us.

If anything, it looks like we can spend loads and still be well inside the rules.

I think we can dismiss any money trouble rumours.

By the way, I think Mayenda should be loaned out, Hackney isn’t ready yet and Gerty should stay.

The only people saying we are in money trouble are those who are totally envious of our current success.....and don't have the guts to admit it.

its all just jealousy,

they hate its us and not them.

like with Leeds, they finished 24 points ahead of us in the championship, not sure if anyone knew that all.
they thought they would be the ones that would finish higher, have the better players, qualify for Europe, not us.
they thought that they would get this attention as its Leeds, not lonely lil sunderland whp should be thankful just to exist

with the mags,

its the mags. what do we execpt to happen?
Us going down to L1, spending 4 years there, is still the BIGGEST thing to happen to them

My thoughts on the summer window BEFORE outgoings.

RW - Starter
DM - Backup (Young Project)
ST - Starter/Competition
LB - Starter/Competition
CB - Backup (Young Project)
AM - Backup

That would be what I’d be after before anybody leaves.

A young DM who can step in and give Xhaka a break.

Some real competition for Brobbey, I do think we need two strikers of a similar level and it'd be nice to have a profile who can differ from Brobbey a bit. Still be able to get involved and link up but maybe a bit more agile and active inside of the box. (Not a slight on Brobbey mind). I'll always love Isidor and Mayenda but I do have a feeling they may be on the move and i'd be arguably looking at someone who can come in and challenge Brobbey from the off. It's likely it could be a young lad but who has a profile that is the right fit more than experience. Alvaro Rodriguez is one i really like

it's more so we just need another natural 6 really, the only natural DM we have is Xhaka alone

Good article on the Mayenda situation here. Club has shifted their profile of striker and Mayenda wants more game time. Love the man but probably makes sense for both parties for him to move on

My instinct on Mayenda is retain and placate with enough minutes if that is at all possible, I feel like he could still develop into a very good player and I'd rather that be with us. A loan isn't the worst but if the player does well elsewhere, considering the tone of the article you'd assume he'd clamour to make that permanent. If he goes, what sort of fee could we even demand considering his limited minutes at this level?
